Does babcock still want to coach Phaneuf?

I think Phaneuf may be the guy who's around at the start.

Before Babcock my guess was Kessel stayed and Phaneuf was the one dealt. I was wrong.

For people whining about the size of Leafs draftees this year, they should check out next year's draft. They're all monsters.

His contract is looking pretty good.

I think Bernier.

Kadri is what he is at this point I think. A solid 2nd line center. I don't see why or how they could be douches about him. Simmons will find a way though.

I was away yesterday, what's the general consensus around here regarding the Kessel deal? I'm a little disappointed, but the market bears what the market bears i suppose .

Lups will have to be a point per game guy then. Then what does Blowsack do for the other 32 games Lups is out - guess they'll put Winnik back up there.

those three guys better be ready in 2016-2017 or 2017-2018 latest.
if not, better trade them.

2013 draft:
mckinnon, barkov, drouin, jones, lindholm, monahan, nurse, ristolainen, horvat, nichushkin.
of that top10, drouin might be only guy who will not be ready for fulltime NHL duties 2015-2016 season (2y after draft), most other guys already played full (and good) season last season.

2014 draft:
next season, some of the 2014 draft class will make their appearences in the nhl lineups; Nylander is a strong possibility to make the Leafs team for sure.

if in 2016, Nylander and Kapanen would not be ready, that's not a good sign.
The 2016 pick, if indeed top5, should be ready 2017-2018 season as well.

So 2 years rebuild, after that those young guys could be ready to go.

I can see them being ready to make real contributions but it is a stretch to count on them being ready to lead a Cup run. Let the thing cook.
