Ultimately that is the primary concern.
It was not a good "hockey trade" just like Marincin was not a good hockey trade for Edmonton, but Edmonton really needed to make sure they get tougher and the Leafs really needed to break up this core. - Aetherial
Agreed . more about moving him then getting max value. |

Don't write off former Leaf first rounder Tyler Biggs, who goes to Pitt in Kessel deal. Was coming back to prominence via ECHL at year's end
Jesus H Christ. The minute this lump of corn-stool gets moved, he's "legit" prospect all of a sudden... - gravyface
The Leafs traded Biggs simply to make room for the new guys coming in. That's how low his value is.

Hello Boston? Hi. This is Toronto. See, we can be just like you in the aspect that we also give away our talented players for buckets of PFK too.
We need a GM quick before Texas Instruments gives away our entire team.
I mean retain (frank)ing salary and we STILL couldn't get Rattamatattaa?!?! Un(frank)ing real. Leafs are (frank)ing pathetic like usual.

D+ Trade... Kapanen is not some elite prospect like many trying to make him out to be.. Harrington is meh, but to retain salary is just plain stupid.
Leafs should have traded Bozak first and hoped Kessel added some more teams to his trade list.
In good shape for a top 3 pick though - orienbrady22
I agree.
Kapanen is on par with guys like Bracco and Nylanders sister that we just drafted

Not having one pre-draft was not a good move. Having a 28 year old junior GM (for only a short time) is not the recipe for success... |

As long as it's a one year contract we could do just that, then trade them at the deadline for more futures.....cash for futures.

i could ban someone for a decade if i felt like it.. but at that point we just let EO handle it and nuke the account - Dozzer
I don't understand what's wrong with a bit of ribbing. As long as it's not personal or vulgar. Why are leaf fans/mods so sensitive? Especially considering leaf fans on here are known to troll other threads.

The Kassian trade? Let's wait to hear what the habs gave up first - Smitty98
kessel deal...
they got a couple mid-round 1sts while retaining salary for a top 5 goal scorer in the nhl the past 5 years...
absolute joke.
i guess his puck possession stats weren't up to snuff. |

How in the (frank) so? Kessel tearing it up with Crosby it'll probably be 24th overall again... in which we will pull another non-koneckny and trade the (frank) right out of the first round.
(frank) this management. |
