Ok, let's pretend* I don't know who these kids are they traded for and that I don't know anything. Sell it to me.
Also, what do we think happens with #3? Babcock see something in him? Is he definitely gone?
*I'm not a smart man jenny. - weirdoh
if he isnt traded some nutbar hockley board mod shows up at his house in the middle of the night with a bull horn, katana sword and a bell pepper and....... |

good for him
exactly what i always said.. he would flourish as a non core player.
he wasnt going to succeed here in toronto as a key piece. |

I find it frustrating we can't cheer for the Pens to tank to improve our pick. |

no, i love it
great trade
already got a solid top line (all first round picks) of the future with
Kapanen Marner Nylander
and a future top 4 D (3 first round picks and a stay at home 2nd which isnt unusual) that starting to take shape with
Rielly Harrington
Gardiner Percy
This was a big important step for the leafs to take for the rebuild - Dozzer
I was at the Jays game today and just caught up on the comments...there's a solid angst ridden rock opera to be written based on the range of emotions of a lot of "MiB regulars" as details of the trade emerged. Does anyone know how I can reach Billy Joe from Green Day to pitch this idea? I need a collaborator.
I like the deal too - Horton contract makes the cap retention nil, and the cap is going up at least $1.2 next year anyways. Hunter HAS to know Harrington (even though Senstroll says he'll be a bust), Kapanen is an expected 20-30 goal scorer, and all these guys get a chance to develop together starting now. Move the 20-30th 1st rounder for more assets like the did with the 24 and we're cooking with gas.
Haven't even mentioned the $6.8M cap space this creates. Very good to great deal when you look at it as a whole, and you have to figure there wasn't anything else that would have come close in the market.

Kapanen and Harrington are quality players, but probably not top line talents. More like 2nd line/pairing guys. |

Just checking in.
Gimme the skinny on each guy.
Looks like 2015-16 is a complete write-off.
Gonna hang up and listen - Atomic Wedgie
Guy one night says to Andy Frost "First time listener, long time caller..." and you could see Andy doing the face palm right through the radio.... |

i did see him in London a few times when he played for the knights.
simple smart hockey.
think maybe hunter had a hand in making sure he was part of this deal?
i do. - Dozzer
I watched him for years in London. He was a stand out defense man who made smart decisions with the puck, and very rarely made mistakes in his own end. That was in the OHL though.
He was a good leader, and always had the right attitude. Hard working kid. Could improve on his foot speed. |

3 guys I think Babcock can really turn around are Kadri, Gardiner and Phaneuf.. If we keep Dion that is. |
