They have really added much yet.

Lots of work to do.

It's a five year rebuild and we're in year one......look how long you guys took. We still need our own 1st overall pick

That is his value RIGHT NOW. The leafs forced their own hand in trading him right now
- mycokes

That's their problem. We've been telling you to trade his ass years ago!! His value back then would have been better I guess.

But nooooooooo. He was a top 5 scorer in the league, not overpaid at all, and an important part of the core of a young Leafs team!

He's gone. Good riddance. Look ahead.

Nashville was interested in Kessel and they had better pics and prospects according to the experts in suits

They didn't play it very smart for sure. They talked too much. But that's the risk you run with an inexperienced crew. I'm sure it will be a learning experience.
- DoubleDown

These are very high stakes that they HOPEFULLY learnt from.

Don Sweeney would have gotten a better return for Kessel, that's how bad this is.

Took a long time... but Toronto is in a better situation.

They have more money than the Isles ever had.

It should help.

And just for good measure, let's throw in 2 former 1st rounders and a 2nd...on top of retaining salary. What the hell kind of trade was this? This was not a player to retain salary on, everybody knows what he'll do on the Pens, he is a #1 RW on any team in the league. You cannot say that about any other player on the Leafs, in any position. Jesus.
- ThePresident

Pitt just got 40-50 goals and 85 points for less than 7 per year. In 5 years when the Leafs can't make a move at the deadline to improve for a run, then people will see, or they'll believe the GM like last time when they say there aren't any moves out there....

Seems kinda crazy that the Leafs have gone through the draft, and now UFA day without a GM

As a young snowbird, I also support the blue and white. Both teams colours are very similar. Stamkos will be on one of my teams.

Boston messed up big time.

Not sure what direction they are heading.

Should have kept Hamilton and traded Chara.

- jimmc7722

They have two firsts in next years draft, including one that could be top ten. Three this year, they may have mismanaged Hamilton to a point where they had to move him... but they're obviously rebuilding, I'm sure Chara would be a deadline move.

I wanted the Leafs to trade him for my imaginary made up super trade also.. But unfortunately that's not reality
