So your one example is an optional skate that was poorly attended to say he is a bad leader?

I get knocking him for his lack of production and I see where you are coming from but one ptional skate does not make him a bad captain

I think if he is moved back to wing we will all be happy with him as captain

Just my thoughts

and him fighting smaller guys is hockey

Getlaf fights smaller guys is he a bad captain?

Phaneuf? bad example but he fights smaller guys

Brown?

Ok, you're right. He's every bit the captain Dion Phaneuf is.....

Whew. That's good stuff right there.

You have convinced me. He's a marvelous leader of men. Taking a talent laden team the finishes near the top of the conference year in and year out and leads them into battle for the coveted Chalice.

At which time they collectively wet themselves and go home in six games.

What's not to love?

What are the chances that Voynov's contract gets voided? Dude actually broke a law, has been convicted, AND will serve jail time.

The combined cap hit of Lindbohm, Bortuzzo, and Butler will be about 2.3M next year. Not bad. Every little bit of room saved helps

Backes and Oshie are exactly what Montreal needs - i wonder if those two teams can swing a deal.

What are the Blues needs?

Oshie for Brouwer, a goalie name Phoenix (Copley), and a pick?

Will he be slotted in next to Backes?

Sure hope this means that Fabbri will be up next year.

Brouwer is not fast.

I think that this will move backes back to his wing and brouwer will be on the 3rd line with berglund should he still be here

No, not that fast but he can kill penalties, take face offs and is more physical than Oshie. Better team player and he does have a cup ring. Would have been happy with a first but still got a third and a decent prospect.

Next up, Berglund.

Brouwer is a nice get. Physical player with generally low penalty minutes. Didn't have the greatest hands with the hands, but gets dirty, can score.

I like this deal. Moving Oshie this summer was all but inevitable.

So Oshie for essentially a borderline 3rd/4th liner? I fail to see how that is a nice get. Maybe I underestimate Brouwer's scoring ability but I m very underwhelmed by this deal. Oh, and Brouwer is a rental (final year of contract). Almost smells like the perron, cap cutting move to an extent.

Copley wasn't ever drafted and signed as a free agent in 2014. He doesn't even have a profile on Hockey Reference He wasn't even a starter in the AHL last year, backing up Grubauer.

This trade is just meh at best and likely

Moving Oshie is great. The return on this deal is very underwhelming imho.
