They started like 10-2-1 or something. Then just played mediocre enough to squeak in - sbroads24
The Sedins are still pretty good players, but they won't be able to prop up that team full of grinders forever. It'll probably be a slow death for Couver, they probably should have just pulled the plug rather than re-signing the Sedins
I was talking about the Eastern Conference. Still a little shocked Vancouver made it last year. - chilliard77
With all the moves TM made over last season and thru the draft, I expected more in free agency. Then I analyized the roster as it stands now and am ok with him not over spending this time of year. I know most fans expected / hoped for another top 6 forward, but we're okay where we are now. Kane, ORielly, Ennis; Moulson, Eichel and Reinhart are going to be the top 6 as I see it. I can see Girgenson sliding in if Reinhart starts slowly. Girgenson will centernGionta and Foligno with Mcginn sliding in if Foligno faulters. Top 4 on defense are set as well with Bogosian, Ristolienan, Pysyk and Georges. Yes we need a left defense but what moves out? I say roll with what we have, let this unit go forward and establish chemistry and let it play out. My one concern is not on the backend but in goal, still feel a solid number 2 is needed unless Ullmark or Makarov are ready to move up. I like where we are and I dont want us to be short sighted. Playoff talk is running rampant, but honestly a 24 point improvement would be a great start.

I think Pysyk and Gorges would be best off on the 3rd pairing together. Gorges could probably play on the 2nd pair, but should be nowhere near 1st pairing. Johnson has been a reliable backup until this past season, he should do for backup.
I heard this evening they are going to try to trade for 1 this weekend
I was told that the price/term was too much for the players they were kicking around , ufa's
they had their depth moves ready (rochester) and focused on striking quick
then again this person led me wrong on the head coach - homiedclown
I've heard the same thing but heard the trade probably won't happen this weekend, given the holiday. It's going to be a slow weekend news wise. Btw, 39 seems to have disappeared since his Babcock decision followed by Mike Green predicted signing. I've heard we never had a bit of interest in Green.
I understand your point, but I would strongly argue it's injuries and his style of play that cause the so called ups and downs.
He has the career grand slam, owns 14 grand slam titles, and absolutely owns the supposed greatest of all time in Federer in head to head meetings. He is a warrior on the court and is a role model for how to compete no matter the score, whether up or down.
He doesn't just have the capability to be the best player on the planet, he has been the best player on the planet multiple times. - kingcong39
You speak the truth. Nadal was beating Federer when Roger was in his prime. And he was doing it on all surfaces. I'm pretty confident that had Nadal stayed injury free, he'd have more slams than Federer.
We've been fortunate to have three incredible players in Nadal, Federer and Djokovic on tour at the same time.
So what does everyone think would constitute a good season for Eichel point wise?
20g 30a perhaps …... - 100goalseason
Honestly the way McDavid and Eichel were hyped, I would think anything less than 60 is quite the disappointment. They were talking McDavid as if he was better than Crosby coming out(crosby put up 100 his rookie year).

I think Eichel will blow through 50 points before the Allstar break. Did you see him yesterday at Chefs, and Roswell, and First Niagara? All new and shiny!!!
Reinhart, though, he might get 10 or 15 points, if he ever even makes it up from Rochester. Too skinny, too weak, too old. Last years news
