He is not useless, he can come here with no pressure and just play. Great hands, some solid offensive skills and can play with some jam. Great 2nd/3rd line fit over Foligno.
Foligno, Larsson and pick - Irish 14
This.
He is most definitely useful.

So after the moves made in the last week, are we still a contender to be one of the worst 5 teams in the league this coming year that some on this board had vehemently argued a couple months ago?
I'm of the opinion that we're better, probably not playoff berth better, but at least above a bottom 5 finish. |

We won't be a bottom 5 team...
Toronto, Arizona, Boston, Carolina, NJ, Philly are the 6 teams I see "fighting" for those sports, and of course you are going to see a team fall, maybe like Detroit or Vancouver |

It was mentioned a few times here yesterday, but man NHL free agency sucks nowadays. Not even as a sabres fan. League wide it has become a joke.
Max contract length should be 5/6 years instead of 7/8. |

Oshie has never scored more then 19 goals and makes over 4 mill a year, sounds like another Hecht to me. |

I agree, nobody ever hits the market. I think Parise only hit the market cause he knew he was going to Minny same with Suter |

If the D stays the same we will be in conversation for bottom 5 |

Nah, just needs to know his role here. Not a 1st liner, but a nice 2nd PP and 2nd line winger over Foligno, Gionta and maybe even Moulson (sorry 89). |

Agreed. I think it was premature to assume at the end of the season we'd be a bottom feeder. If GMTM hadn't made any moves and sat on his laurels then of course we'd continue to be terrible. Or if Nolan had remained as coach. |

It won't and even if it does stay the same, the addition of much better puck possession forwards will help tremendously. We won't be a playoff team but not a bottom 5. |

cept connolly's best was 18 goals
if T.J. didn't take a zillion shoot out attemts vs the russians, his value to the casual hockey fan would be half of what it is |

Oshie wouldn't play over Moulson and the other guys you mentioned are scrubs and that includes " I'm only here on name only " Foligno. |

the flip side is oshie goes strong to the net where hecht produced his best getting junk goals off of d men or trying to poke the puck at the back of the goalies pad from behind the net |

oshie plays rw, not left
he would be fine on the second line if only to put gionta down to the third line
gionta is our only natural rw'er
folgino is center/lw
moulson is lw |

That's the problem - I have watched him play a lot the past few years (NOT JUST the Olympics). It’s easy for many to say the shoot-out angle, it gets old. Just my opinion, I like Oshie!

Some people on this site really undervalue Moulson , Murray DOES NOT. I'm not just saying that because I like Moulson, i'm going off of what I was told right before they brought him back. |
