oshie and williams....i have worries.

I would actually like to see WAs win some playoff games. I was routing for them this year. Ovi deserves it and there window is narrowing fast.

Since we were talking about Matt Read and TJ Oshie-.They are a year apart in age and the big difference were Oshies' assists at a higher clip than Read. Not saying they are comparable players, but the numbers are not that different . I say a healthy Matt Read will be a 20g/20A player and depending on the role and who you play him with he could generate more assists

It's a good deal for the Caps. Oshie's not great, but he can score 20 and pick up assists with Ovi

Move likely allows the #stlbues to add another competitive player.

They only gained $700K in cap space, though.

I debated this months ago. I would absolutely give up Matt Read and a little extra for Oshie but what's done is done.

I think read has slightly higher defensive game. But they are very comparable imo

I think a trade like that is almost pointless. Your basically over paying for a name on the sweater. Oshie has much more name recognition but the player are pretty equal

The #Flyers have signed 6-3, 232-lb goaltender Jason LaBarbera to a one-year, two-way contract → http://bit.ly/1FW71TH

I'm sure the parents have moments of regret over that choice.

Seems like a pretty light asking price for Oshie.

Surprised the Flyers couldn't swing a deal like that.

At the very least we'd win a shoot out or two next year.

Oshie is better at shootouts, but he isn't going to make that huge of a difference in the top 6. I would spend assets on a winger like Eberle or Yakupov as opposed to Oshie.

I've been lobbying for Eberle for a couple years now. I'd take a chance on yak depending on what the price is.

Last I saw was that Zepp was interested in staying within the organization... Strange

i've always sensed this guy would end up here. obviously a phantom, but not a bad guy for emergency depth.

IIRC, Gagner is pretty good on the shootouts, too

Perhaps so, but to me, the bottom line is if we actually see the player in that role playing games for the Flyers, we've got more to worry about than actually who it is

Man

You knew it was coming from somebody and Phil Kessel probably doesn't care, but damn, that was some rip-job from Steve Simmons on the way out the door
