He's 18 months older than Zepp. |

They also need a good 4th dman and they're gaining 650k in cap space |

I would do Read + Chicago's 2nd for Sharp despite him being 4.5 years older because I always wanted him back. Might not be the most logical move for the Flyers but (frank) it. |

I'm not sure Bickell is even tradeable at this point with his knee issues. I don't know how Bowman can keep Seabrook past next year. He's every bit a #1 dman, who will be 31 after next season. I have to figure at least 6 years and $42 million for him. |

We don't need a winger who will be turning 34 this year. And if you're moving Streit it needs to be for a younger asset.
You could probably move Streit to a playoff bound team for a 1st. Makes so much more sense. |

He is nothing of a #1 d men. He's a #3 on a Stanley Cup team a #2 on a bubble team and a #1 on a bad team. He's what morin predicts to be a solid shut down 2nd pairing guy. He is also going to be 31 almost 32. He plays physical very physical which should hurt his value past age 35. I say he's lucky to get 5 years 32 million tops |

@RumorBreak: #BREAKING - Hearing Flyers have an offer on the table for Patrick Sharp and includes Matt Read+ going back the other way. - moylander
I wouldn't go after Patrick Sharp. He had a down season much like Matt Read but Read is much younger then Sharp. If I was serious about moving Read for an upgrade, it would have been Read plus for Oshie. |

Seabrook scores 34 points per 82 games. We should all be doing cartwheels if that what Morin ends up producing. |

For read I really have no love lost. I don't figure his contract into our future he's a glorified 3rd liner with defensive prowess. If we can get a top 6 for him without giving up a top prospect we win |

so you're writing Hjmarlsson brings more to the table then Seabrook? I guess we're going to have to disagree. He plays physical, but has missed 10 games total since the '06 season. I don't see him physically breaking down at all. He's a $7 million/yr dman on his next contract, no doubt, IMO. |

If it came down to having to choose one, i'd much rather keep Brayden than Read. |

Absolutely. I can see why some might not care for Luke but I think some people don't like Brayden for the same reasons as Carter and Versteeg. Too handsome. |

A lot of that depends upon PP time. I would guess Morin won't be seeing 1st line PP minutes any time soon, but who can really say. |

I don't think Morin will see any first unit PP time as long as we have players like Streit, Del Zotto, Sanheim, Gostisbehere or even Provorov in the line up. These players should be best suited in offensive situations ahead of Morin. |

Agreed, he definitely won't get first PP time with Streit in the lineup. I'm not so sure about the rest. MDZ might get it done, but so far he has't been a great PP quarterback. Granted, he hasn't had much of an opportunity, so there is that to consider. As for the other prospects, they may prove better, they may not, but none of them are 6'7" with the potential to unleash a bomb of a shot that defending players are going to fear getting in front of. Ghost is the only one I put significantly ahead of the others in development, but he's also the smallest and had a bit of a setback last season...I really hope his game translates well to the NHL.
It's going to be interesting to see who is the first to get into the lineup as a regular, who develops the most quickly, and whether they are one and the same. I'm very much looking forward to watching these kids play. |
