As for the blog (actually read it this time  ) you're correct Hendo. McDavid has had a free agency effect for the Oilers, and given a chance to show what he can do I feel he will have an even bigger effect in the coming years. FA's will be more likely to sign here, thinking that their numbers will go up, which of course leads to bigger paydays.
As to free agency, did all the GM's shoot their load on day one? I don't remember such a dramatic drop off from day one to day two. Did anybody get signed yesterday? |

I anticipate FAs signing for cheaper... Hell for the most part they signed cheaper collectively this year which was strange. But they will come to the great white north for a discount down the road would be the hope - something like Richards did for Chigago this past season...
As for the signings- I am shocked that Franson still doesnt have a deal done... |

"In my opinion the Struggling Oilers don't deserve McDavid. Even with McDavid the Oilers are still at least 7 to 8 years from maybe being competitive in the NHL. I think the Oilers need a big blockbuster Trade to get them on the right path. Perhaps with the Toronto Maple Leafs ? How about this trade proposal. Norris D-man Phaneuf + Horton + Robidas to the Oilers for Mcdavid + 1st rounder. This is a fair trade for both teams. What do you guys think ?"
