I think we're all getting a little ahead of ourselves with talk of trading MDZ.
What's going on here is all part of negotiations. I'd be surprised if something didn't get worked out. - johndewar
Yeah, 'cause that never happens in here.

Trades also happen. If something doesn't get worked out would you rather them go to arbitration and then have Del Zotto get awarded something the Flyers don't want to pay? If they walk away from him it would be for nothing then.
Do you think Hextall is looking ahead incase they can't come to agreement even though he hopes to get something worked out? |

Who makes playoffs first? Buffalo or philly? - Sms401
Buffalo definitely got better up front, but I still think they need help on defense and it's a question whether or not Lehner can step up in net.
I don't think they'll be at the very bottom, but I don't think they'll make the playoffs. |

They're better, but let's not start putting Buffalo in the playoffs just yet.
Last I checked, Montreal, Tampa, and Detroit all had 100 point years last year.
And even Ottawa came on strong in that division (although, I don't believe for a second that Andrew Hammond is for real). |

I think Montreal and Detroit take a step back. No way price has another season like last year and agree about hamburgler. Gonna be some turnover this year in the east me thinks |

if a RFA files for arbitration, can another team still sign him to an offer sheet? Are there any restrictions in trading a player after arbitration? |

I think other teams have to wait until the original team decides to accept the arbitration ruling or decline. |

Laughton suffered a concussion that affected his play. - MJL
I didn't think Scott Laughton played that great before the concussion. |

From an offensive stand point, he wasnt cashing in. His play though was very good. He was noticeable for the right reasons. The concussion definitely affected his play pretty significantly. |

He was noticeable for not cashing in.
Laughton was playing on a scoring line with Simmonds when he entered the league and looked out of place within the role. |

I'd really be fine if he started in the AHL this year. |

(frank)ing christ, can we give the kid some time to play before we start making judgements and sarcastic, holier than thou comments on his future......let me ask you a question, since hes the guy you randomly picked as the "one who wont make it from the group", how many times have you actually seen him play? - KINGKENZO
The best part of it is this is all from the guy who chose Rinaldo as a tag. If that's his judgement on hockey talent i will wait for the chance to watch him play. From what i heard he has bulked up a little bit in the upper body area while rehabbing. Will he be a can't miss stud? I have no idea but can't say he's a bust either.

He had more defensive zone starts than offensive zone starts, so if he was on a scoring line, it wasn't being deployed all that well. |

how much trade value does del zotto really have? if you have to overpay on a 1 year deal it is worth the risk. then maybe you move him at the deadline.
If he wants a reasonable deal then give 3/4 years as he is still young and can help going forward. Also still allows guys to develop. If he is being unreasonable then move him for what you can. |
