You know, I've been an Avs fan since 95 when they relocated and now, 20 years later, I notice that 90% of the Sabres fans I know also say Colorado is their West team, or 2nd favorite.

Actually, the only Sabres game I've ever been to was a Sabres Avalanche game back when STUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU BARNES!!!! was the captain.

I just noticed most Sabres fans are also Avs fans.


Also, if anyone remembers the news interview when Stu Barnes got traded, the guy was seriously broken up about it and almost in tears the entire time. That was more heart-breaking than Drury/Briere IMO. Barnes was always my favorite player. Until Maxy-Poo came along

Honestly I can't stand the Avs, and it's mainly because of the seemingly entitled attitude of fans out here (due to that early success). Also an Avs fan once came up to me at a game and said "I'm just here for the chicks". Not that it's fair to paint the entire fanbase as self-involved due to one idiot, but it works for me.

I wore a Red Wings jersey with a few other Detroit fans one time to an Avs-Wings game and thoroughly enjoyed cheering on their hated rivals from near the glass.

There was a great story in the paper last week near me about a guy who got badly injured in an accident while he was trying to help his buddy take his boat to the lake. The friend put the boat in the back of a pickup - must have been a rowboat or something. As they were driving down the road, the boat started lifting up out of the bed of the truck when the wind got to it.

So the moron gets out of the passenger seat and goes to sit in the boat in the back of the truck - trying to weight it down - but when the truck got going fast enough the dude and the boat both flew right out the back !!!
