A lot of blondes in our prospect pool. This will disappoint my wife.
I'm thinking 6th from the left at bottom is Hagg maybe (could also be 2 to the left of Sanheim). - jmatchett383

- benjichronic
I don't think I've ever been this excited for a Flyers prospect pool. Then again, I didn't know much about any of our prospects in the early/mid 2000s, so I didn't know much at all about Richards and Carter. But even with that group, I think this group is more well rounded, as that group didn't have much to speak of on defense after Pitkanen (I believe that Picard and Meyer were the next highest ranked players on defense). I can honestly see 8-12 guys becoming NHL regulars and am hoping a few turn into superstars. |

I can remember being excited for Richards, Carter, Umberger, etc. coming up, and then Giroux (don't forget Giroux was pretty high on the Q scoring leader board before he got drafted) but before that? The Flyers haven't had much of a stream of steady young prospects. I can remember being excited for Niinimaa and even Pitkanen, but that's about it.
I don't remember the Flyers having this much young talent around since, maybe, the early to mid-80's or so. |

I got Konecny confused with Bardreau. Konecny's actually bottom right. |

Who are the 8-12 that you think could be regular nhl'ers? - benjichronic
In order of best-to-worst and what I see them as:
Forwards:
Laughton (top-9 winger/center)
Konecny (top-9 winger/center)
Lindblom (top-9 winger)
Leier (bottom-9 winger)
Fazleev (bottom-9 winger)
Defense:
Sanheim (top pair all-minutes defenseman)
Provorov (top pair all-minutes defenseman)
Morin (2nd pair shutdown man)
Ghost (bottom pair PP specialist)
Hagg (bottom pair)
Goal:
Stolarz (solid backup/fringe starter)
I didn't list Aube-Kubel because I think he's going to sink or swim in a top-6 role and may fall into an Akeson type of role where he can't ever produce enough of a positive goal differential to justify a roster spot.
Now, this is based on very little solid evidence more than my gut feelings, and is subject to change at a moment's notice. But it at leats gives me some hope. |

Cousins is not at prospects camp because, I think, he's ineligible.
I'm guessing he's still in the Flyers' plans, though. |

Hägg is standing behind Pettersson. - bmeltzer
Bill, do you see any way Pettersson ever makes an NHL roster aside from exhibitions? I admire the guy's work ethic, but he seems like he just has too many obstacles to overcome. |
