There is only one King of Pizza on Route 70, whereas you can go to a busted up Cheesecake factory anywhere in Flyoverville, USA. |

The nhl expanding is hilarious when theres more than one time who can't keep their head out of water. That's the American spirit I guess. Extend yourself to the nth degree |

I decided after the last lockout that if there was another one, I am done with the NHL. I almost walked away from the sport after the last one but decided to stick around. Even then, I wasn't rearranging my life around Flyers games any more.
But these owners continue to poop on us every 5 or 7 years.
The Tarasenko contract is the beginning of the end. - MBFlyerfan
I'm not sure where my line is but I agree that the last lockout really put a damper on things for me. Another lockout would really be a problem for me.
Edit: Advertising on jerseys would also big a huge turnoff for me. |

Agreed. Putting a team in Las Vegas is further evidence that the league has no flippin' clue about what it is doing. |

Hilarious? Expansion is worth hundreds of millions to the league. |

Crappy teams in ill-advised locations hurts the product, though. |

I'm more concerned with the watering down of talent. 2 more teams just means more Rinaldos and fading 40 year olds in the league. |

In a one time thing maybe with the franchise fees. But one can argue that expansion results in more franchises bleeding money, while diluting the overall product. Thus resulting in loss of revenue over time.
No one here can say that the existence of The Arizona Coyotes, Carolina Hurricanes, and Florida Panthers helps the league in any way. At least not in their current locations.

Is that Cherry Hill's own Bobby Ryan? Even though he spent most of his young life in California, and considers himself from California?
IIRC Bobby Ryan is California slang for over rated. - MBFlyerfan
The one who was born in Cherry Hill and went to school in Collingswood, NJ? Yeah, that;s the one. |

Who do owners care about the product when they can get a short-term revenue gain? |

Honestly, I think there are issues that are involved that we're not aware of, that factor in, such as TV contract issues. I think if it was just a matter of making money or not, they'd simply just move or relocate struggling franchises. |

dont get me wrong he's a really good winger but i just laugh because I remember trade proposals on this very thread consisting of something to the tune of voracek, read and simmonds. furthermore i mentioned at the time jake was gonna be an elite player himself and he's becone just that. now if ryan never had clarke as his godfather or spent a few years in cherry hill i seriously doubt most fans would care. |
