Don't buy it. Why did franson suck so much after leaving to? He couldn't stay in the lineup for a playoff team and his production completely disappeared. - burn
May prove the sad state of affairs in Toronto. If it wasn't for that start... this team would have bottomed out big time. |

In a game 7, they all matter. - Pecafan Fan
I don't get your point. Good defensemen lose playoff games and have a minus in the games they lose... |

My point is using the argument that he led the team in ice time in game 7 isn't a good idea considering how they lost that game. |

Kind of a weird argument to make though, because it's not like Nashville won without him. He was kind of a wash, played a few minutes, wasn't really a factor either way... |

Strome will be interesting. More risk involved in that pick, but the pay off could be big. ...or not. - Woderwick
It's too hard to tell, the McDavid factor with Strome cannot be ignored. I am more than happy with Marner. |

Thats a stupid argument because it implies that because he played the most minutes he's the most at fault for the loss, which is not indicative of what took place on the ice... |

I just dont really think of all people Colby Armstrong should be speaking about Kessel. Hes right but I just dont think hes the guy who should be saying anything. Whats next Tim Connolly?

Well of course yes.
Franson is less of a defensive liability than Phaneuf is, and puts up better numbers.
That's what I see with my eyes.
The advanced stats numbers confirm it.
Hence my statement that Franson is better than Phaneuf.
Franson is also a 'better human being' than Phaneuf - MaximusAurelius
If I recall my elementary learning correctly, .53 > .43...... and that would put your comment about Franson scoring more in the wrong. |

How is it a weird arguement to make? You just said he wasn't a factor either way..... Isn't that pretty damming for someone that is supposed to be a #1? |

Who's the what zit?... Franson can be a decent d man, no one believes he's a number 1, he has been but in certain situations because the club doesn't own any number 1s... |

With this draft being winger heavy I think i'd prefer a stud D. You cannot pass on Matthews however. |

I don't think you take it away from him. It hasn't gone well when others have done it (ie sjs)
From what Babcock has said, he think Dion is much better than the media and fans seem to think. Said he needs more help. Compared to the likes of the hawks with Keith. Keith has lots of help, if he has a bad game no one really notices because others there to pick him up, Dion doesn't have that. |

AGE 17 NATION Canada / USA
POSITION D SHOOTS L
HEIGHT 188 cm / 6'2" WEIGHT 88 kg / 194 lbs
2014-15 Sarnia Sting [A] OHL GP42 G16 A17 pts 33
An imposing 6'2'' defender who can impact the game in multiple ways. Remarkably agile and coordinated for a player of his size. Generates excellent propulsion from a wide, powerful stride aided by exceptional lateral agility. Smooth, soft passer, creates long stretch passes on the tape and will tailor his delivery speed. Calmly diffuses threats and finds safe, productive outlets. Thrives orchestrating the breakout and loves to attack. A physically imposing defender, he understands his strength advantage and plays to it. Stays in motion, possesses a wandering quality which often lends himself to chase the puck in the defensive zone. Overextends himself at times, is prone to the odd turnover when trying to do too much. Projects as a franchise level defender, one who has the ability to impact the game in all three zones.

It was argued in this thread recently.
Guys that "don't make a difference either way" dont deserve big money long term deals. |
