I think its a good indicator he will be playing NA hockey next season either in AHL or NHL.

Pretty sure Nylander from Toronto did the exact same thing. Signed in the summer, went and played Euro for half the season and then finished the remainder in the AHL.

Rantanen just has more options now.

I say let the self-absorbed ass-munch do a few years in the pokey. After that, maybe he signs a minimum contract with Arizona or Columbus for a few year of overweight, 4th-line duty before he "retires".

It would be a fitting end to a malcontent, greedy wanker who puts $$$ before the locker room and the guys with whom he had the PRIVILEGE to share the logo.

I know, ROR is making it a lot easier for us to be really happy with the trade from his comments after it, his ridiculously structured contract, and now this.

It just feels good to be separated from that off ice lightning rod of controversy, especially since we got fair value in a trade when we did.
