Bills OL coach Kromer arrested in Florida for punching boy

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) — Buffalo Bills offensive line coach Aaron Kromer was arrested Sunday in Florida after shoving a boy to the ground and punching him, authorities said.

The Walton County Sheriff's Office said the dispute arose after Kromer and his son confronted three boys about their use of beach chairs while fishing near their home. In a statement, the sheriff's office said Kromer grabbed the boys' fishing pole and threw it in the water before assaulting one boy.

''The victim stated Kromer also told him if he reported him to the police he would kill his family,'' the sheriff's office said.

Kromer, 48, was taken into custody just before 2 a.m. Sunday and released on bond about an hour later, jail records show.

He is charged with battery that caused bodily harm, but the sheriff's office said it was still investigating and additional charges are possible. The sheriff's office did not release the names or ages of the boys who were involved in the incident.

In a written statement, the Bills said, ''We are aware of the report and in the process of gathering the facts.''

Kromer joined the team in January after being fired from the Chicago Bears.

Rodrigues has hockey sense, skill and compete...it's a pretty solid foundation

I follow BU hockey very closely. Rodrigues is a solid player but I'm not sure he's an NHL player. I'd love to see him prove me wrong and make it but while he does many things very well I'm not sure he does anything well enough to get him to the show. He's very tricky and has a lot of nifty moves in his arsenal which is why I think he did well against his peers (more or less) in 3 on 3, but I don't see him having much success with those moves against actual NHL caliber defensemen. Like he loves the fake shot/pass-to-put it between your own legs move or whatever you wanna call it and it worked well for him in college but I feel like he'd just get flattened trying to pull that in the pro ranks. Really really pulling for him but realistically I think his ceiling is probably as a good AHLer.

I think it's 50 NHL contracts, which makes it much more reasonable, considering the turn over rate that the AHL has to go through. You sign a bunch of AHL or AHL/ECHL guys and all it is, is cash, not going on the 50 player limit.

Thanks for the insight. As with all your own players, you want them to succeed.. but the way he's been touted, he didn't show, at least this week anyway, that he really has the overall ability to play in the NHL. So, it's nice that he's slated for Rochester for at least 2 years. He's already 21 so unless he bulks up a bit, his weight likely won't change all too much.

Would love to see him succeed though, at either level.

Can someone tell me how Connor Hurley looked during the week? I know he's years away, but does he look like he has potential down the road?

Eichel is going to need some rest, but I think he comes into training camp guns blazing.
