Wasnt big Buff arrested a couple seasons ago for drunk driving his boat? I don't think they did anything with him. - Cheeseballin
The issue is that the NHL has gotten super tough on players as of lately, a couple years ago this would have slid by, but i'm not so sure about this now. With all the trouble out in La, and more and more players misbehaving, I think the NHL will unfortunately take action and try to stop the players in this league from behaving like players in the NFL or NBA.

I'm in no way out to trivialize a serious infraction but I don't think I can put up with 3 months of wgr and tbn going on their moral high ground wanting ROR burned at the stake. The public embarrassment will be plenty. But it won't be driven home until Bucky or Sully tell us that he must be released |

Over 80 mg - Sabresfan-365
Over 0.08 is an automatic:
90 day license suspension
$180 administrative monetary penalty
7 day vehicle impoundment
If convicted of impaired driving (first offence):
Mandatory alcohol education or treatment program
1 year min requirement to drive a car equipped with an ignition interlock device
No minimum jail sentence
$1000 fine
License suspended for 1 year
Not sure how fleeing the scene would change this or what charges/penalties would be added.
Also not sure if he was convicted of this or other charges, how it could affect his passport and crossing the border. |

This makes much more sense than just a 3 day license suspension.

Seriously this is the most Canadian thing possible. Drunk driving and hitting a Tim Hortons. In Canada a DUI is only a 3 day suspension of his license plus a find, him leaving the scene is bad though. - Stripes77
False. 80mg is the legal limit. 50-79mg is a 3 day. 80 and above is a full dui. Use to be 1 year suspension and then ignition blow device for another year. Now I think a first timer is 6 month suspension and 3 month blow device. The fact that he plowed into a tim hortons makes me think he may just be a tad over the 80mg. |

Thanks for the info. As for border crossing problem I doubt he will have any. He has that Pegula money now to buy a lawyer to wipe any felony(if there is one) off his record. |

I would argue im a realist. The article on ESPN said the moves this offseason would give them 4 or 5 more wins. Let's double that and it's still only 15 to 20 more points in the standings....still in the bottom 3rd of the league....

and all of these guys saying he's gonna get jail time is hilarious. I had a buddy rear end someone when they were both driving down the highway. After they got out and the other person realized my friend that hit them was hammered, they said they were calling the cops. He shrugged his shoulders, left his car on the side of the road and started the 10km walk home. After an hour, the cops found him walking the side of the road and he matched the description of the suspect in the fender bender. He was taken back for a sobriety test 3 hrs after the fact and blew a 160mg. He didn't get anymore punishment for walking away from the scene ala orielly. |

Agreed. This guy just signed a huge contract and he is too stupid to get a car service or a hooker to drive him home?!? I hope this is not a sign of things to come.. |
