Deslauriers will be on this teams fourth line for years to come and that is n awesome thing... he is perfect for the role: fights, hits, hustles, plays great defense... and you can't just ignore him on offense cause he can put the puck in the net... A harder working Foligno in my opinion... - jackoc150
You neglected to add a less talented and less productive version of Foligno to your statement.
That's insane.
Deslauriers scored less, in more games than Foligno and Larsson.
And Foligno fights, and Larsson is gritty.
Larsson>Foligno>Deslauriers>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>McCormick - sbroads24
Totally agree with you.
The love for Deslauriers is off the charts. I really like him as a player too, but there might be some perspective needed.
I will ask again: why not keep all of Foligno, Larsson, and Deslauriers?
Yes McGinn and Legwand are new, but I seriously doubt one is back next season in Legwand.
Let's say McGinn has a strong year and scores 40 points in a 20-20 way. He is getting paid $3M now. As a free agent, what is he going to want? A multi year deal at $4M? Perhaps more?
If that were the case, why bring him back? Just use your cheaper, similar alternatives in Foligno and Larsson. |

If they could sign Oduya it would be huge because then there are still assets that could be moved (if Murray was inclined to do so) for a younger top 4 NHL D (Krug comes to mind) |

He didn't play that terribly last year and was hurt for most of the year. We didn't give up much to get him so not completely Rivet territory. Guy also wants to be here and doesn't need to be a captain IE Rivet. He also has a no trade clause. |

Anyone else not a fan of bringing in Oduya??? I think that he would cost too much, and would want too long of term. I'd rather try to pick up an offensive D-man via trade, or stand pat until next year, and let McCabe, or Ruhwedel have a shot. We already have Oduya in Gorges, don't we??? |

I agree if Oduya signs here and Murray makes a trade for another one it would complete the best offseason in Buffalo Sports History.
Risto Yandle Bogo Oduya would be a great top 4 with Gorges and Pysyk rounding out the bottom and Weber being the 7th |

He's going to be 34 when the season starts. I get the whole cups/experience thing, but there has to be a better option out there. |

I think he's a good guy to have around the locker room with all the kids. He hates to lose and leaves it all out on the ice when he does play. He was in way over his head last year on the 1st pairing but should be plenty serviceable on the 2nd or 3rd, though the 3rd would be preferable. He blocks shots and is good on the PK. He's better than Weber if you ask me, as he doesn't seem to have a habit of screening the goalie or have pucks ricochet into the net off of him either. |

Ok... He played 75% of the few games he actually did play very injured on a historically bad team with terrible linemates as I recall... I'm going to wait to see how he does to start this year when he's fully healthy to judge him. |

A foligno Larsson Deslauriers line would be perfect for this time moving forward. Hitting, PK, enough talent to chip in with scoring, two guys willing to drop the gloves and Larsson is a pest who can draw penalties. You won't find a better 4th line in the league.

Oduya to make decision this week sabres or hawks per NBC - GERBE!!!75PTS
Sure he is, I posted yesterday I got a text saying that the Sabres are going to up there offer to Oduya. Unless the Hawks move Bickell they won't be able to come close to the Sabres offer, or if Oduya gives them a big discount. |
