That's what I thought too but Strickland made it seem like it might have been a recent thing. If he turned it down because he'd rather live in Dallas which Strickland may have suggested then I say F him but we can't be sure I guess.

Totally different situation. Zad broke team rules.

If the NHL doesn't suspend him I am pretty sure the team wouldn't (actually I am wondering if the team could even suspend him according to the CBA)

Seems dumb to me that a guy can be suspended by his team for being late, but that same team wouldn't suspend a guy for something along the lines of what O'Reilly is being charged with.

Whelp... If this means you'll be rooting against O'Riley for the rest of his career that's your call.. In the end he's a Sabres and I'll root for him all day and night.

The actions were very disappointing and ill timed but could've been much worse.

Suspend the guy 2 games without pay at the start of the season. Equates to around $200,000 in lost wages, plus the legal fees he's going to incur. This will be a stupid and costly mistake that hopefully he learns from, and hopefully he realizes that it could have been much worse than a stupid and costly mistake.
