Fasching - Homer
I think Fasching and Baptiste are 2 prospects they could afford to move

unless they are a top ten pick, I have lost interest in prospects
esp after the last 13 months |

Fasching - Homer
I like his play around the net,
But he'll never make it in the NHL if he doesn't improve his skating...
A LOT |

Murray must like him to trade McNabb and 2 nd's. He was the main piece, not DLO, who I like. |

all that time invested in following these prospects, gone for a few roster players
I am ok with most of the moves though |

I know
I hated that trade when it happened
I'm not really a fan of Murray's take on prospects so far, but I hope to be proven wrong
I didn't like last years draft
Not a big fan of this one either, but we traded away some useful picks, so I guess if give it a pass... As long as Guhle works out |

So did I, because i was a McNabb fan. A very good friend of mine had a lot to do with trade from the Kings standpoint. Loves him.
IDK about the draft and Guhle thing....i read that only 15% of second round picks play meaningful minutes in the NHL, I dont wanna hing Murray and his drafting skills on a 15% chance. |

No, but Luke Adam bad
I was there on Thursday when thy were doing skating drills
Not only did Fasching look like one of the worst out there, he had a coach skating along side him CONSTANTLY, helping him work on it
It was simple edge work, and he was having a lot of trouble
When they were being timed in straight ahead skating, it appeared he was among the slowest |

I don't think you can look at it that way
Murray is being touted as a "scout" & "talent evaluator"
Well,
We've got stocked Cupboards...
So while I agree with trading prospects for established young Pros, he's still gotta make smart picks to restack the Cupboards
His decision to trade one of our most promising defensemen, when that was a position we were thin at, was a mistake IMO
Esp since we are deep with forward prospects that are in the same talent range as Fasching
I'll let it go with O'Reilly, but also trading Zadorov clearly created another hole
Right now,
We could have those two guys on defense & we wouldn't have to be taking about signing old guys like Oduya, Martin, etc... Or spending more assets to trade for a guy like Yandle, etc

Hahaha
U obv picked an exception to the rule
If Fasching scores HALF the goals he did I'd be happy
The Sabres need to hire whoever helped Bailey with his skating to help Fasching
He's improved to the point where he was one of the best, & fastest skaters out there |

Hindsight is 20/20....I love the O'Reilly deal.....Drafting 18 y/o kids after round one is a crap shoot. Its not like the NFL |

I know,
I do get what you're saying
I like that Murray is going after guys he likes
He just seems to not have much of a plan to replace the defensemen he's given up |

That's really only if you consider zadorov to be a promising potential top pairing guy, which murray obviously didn't. Post trade a lot of hockey people mentioned that he wasn't a big fan of zads. |

Fair enough, but you need 1/2 The D than you need at Forward (12 v. 6) so i think its worth the risk. What he has done is get the best player in the deal (Kane, O'Reilly) and I always have loved that |
