I'd feel A LOT better if we could get an Allen, Gibson, Subban, etc

Fair enough, but you need 1/2 The D than you need at Forward (12 v. 6) so i think its worth the risk. What he has done is get the best player in the deal (Kane, O'Reilly) and I always have loved that

And I know it's still a long summer, but I'd like to see some of those forward prospects (we have 12 with top9 potential IMO, and 3 future openings) swapped out for some young defensemen

Seems to me it was more Zadorov's attitude than skill
Even if he wasn't a top pair guy, I think he almost definitely was a 2nd pair guy at least

Ristolainen, Zadorov, Bogosian, Pysyk, McCabe, McNabb
That would've been a heck of a defensive corps IMO

Now, McCabe (who I do like a lot) is our best LH defensman for the future
If he doesn't work out, we will have some issues for sure

We could've drafted Roy & Kylington/Guhle
