Perreault, Martin, Hasek. And I know he wasn't here long enough to maybe be considered but my choice would be Lafontaine. He was an electric player. After Perreault he was the was talented, gifted forward I've ever seen wear the Blue & Gold.

I've enjoyed Halt and Catch Fire (in season 2 now, think season 1 is available on streaming services). Mr. Robot seems cool (on USA), but it's only about 3 episodes in to it's first season. There's a couple "geeky" shows to consider.

Here's some details:

Franson is a much better offensive player and hitter than Oduya - double s Oduya in both categories

Excellent PP shot

Big and young

Can be a bit if a defensive liability mostly cuz his skating is average

Don't think you're getting him on the cheap as he turned down 4.7m /yr from the leafs

Coming off 3 one year contracts so is more likely to go for the money than Oduya

I would be very happy to get him for 3/15 but given his age wouldn't be opposed to 4/20.

I never really thought we were getting Oduya, I have a GREAT feeling about Cody. Our main competition is PIT and they have major cap issues

Banshee had one of the best seasons of television that I can recall this past season. Justified had a great final season. I'm going to miss that show.

The more I think about it I don't want to pay that kind of money on a 3rd pairing D man with obvious defensive flaws. I'd rather have Jake McCabe. Murray would be better pulling a trade for someone or watch the waiver wire during camp.

Agree. The experience McCabe would get would far outweigh the benefits that Franson would bring to a team that's not going to make the playoffs anyway.

Isn't this scenario the Sabres are dealing with (searching for a solid LHD) a perfect use for advanced analytics? Try and find an underutilized 26-30 year old to get on the cheap via trade?

Probably. It's also possible they have someone play on the opposite side from where they're used to. It's not totally uncommon. In a perfect world you have 3 of each, but it's not exactly easy to do.

At one point we had all lefties and the only righty was Myers.
