If at trade deadline we were able to unload Vrbata for a first, Hamhuis for a first and 3rd (comparing to coburn value) Higgins for 2nd or 3rd, Burrows for 2nd or 3rd and Prust for whatever he can get, the rebuild on the fly wouldnt be as bad. We already got two top ten picks in the last 3 years in Horvat and Virtanen, Boeser looks promising, so does mccann. One more top ten pick, and the other picks aquired at the trade deadline, have sedins the next year with miller and bring in promising youth wouldnt be pulling and edmonton. And in two years time Shink and Gaunce could be good additions to the team. Im still not fully given up on Jensen, if he can commit this offseason to fitness and throws his frame around he could pull his weight to

So after losing kassian you also trade both guys that sedins play great with? Thats not very smart.

I was harassed by the butthurt Nonis supporters all through Gillis' first season. Even our blogger who was mark gage at the time dedicated a blog to it being unfair that Nonis got fired for not making the playoffs, yet Gillis can stay after missing. This is what I mean about people's reasoning. They boil it down to everything being about just *one thing* and can't rationalize past it. Can't see the forest for the trees.
Go ahead. Laugh but you have it backwards. I've always been rational outside of a occasional meltdown with a pest or two. I may flog a dead horse too often and not give up but my arguments are rational. This one with you is a fine example. You can't get your mind past this big tear down that the Canucks didnt intend to do in the first couple of seasons. Obviously they are looking at doing it when the contracts expire(or get moved). You seem to think the Miller signing corrupted the process. His contract will be gone in time for the Sedins exit but you keep insisting it contradicts their plans. You are stuck on the wrong set of plans obviously. We can argue the best course to go... and probably be more on the same page but I'm not failing to understand. They have decided on a plan... it's not the one you are confused about.

A huge bounce back 101 point season and two solid drafts in a row....what exactly do they need to do to earn your respect? A cup or bust? Or is it Austin Matthews that you require? - CanuckDon
Your question reminds me of a great line from a great movie:
Mr. Blue: Hey, this girl was nice.
Mr. Pink: She was okay. She wasn't anything special.
Mr. Blue: What's special? Take you in the back and suck your Richard?
That old saying of 'that's why they play the game' comes to mind.
Easy to say on paper one team improved and others regressed, but until the season is over, its not a fact. Things like injuries, coaching, cohesion and luck all play some significant role in determining outcomes in sports. - dbot
Good post dbot, we can all speculate and postulate about this team or that team, but until the games are played and the season is over, will we truly know how good or bad this team will be.

Fabulous sound track, of the few movies I actually watched and enjoyed.
Seeing as the others werent candidates its him by default. Why I like him I have no clue.
Must be a product of being subjected to all those oiler trolls.......which is scarier than the movie

Best Tarentino flick, including Pulp Fiction, the best dialogue and the best action sequences.

I think it's almost paradoxical - you like him because he's so dislikeable!
Yah, I'm not sure which is worse - a psychotic maniac wearing a clown outfit or the amount of Oilers/Leafs trolls on this site
