I wouldn't take an unhealthy player regardless of potential. It's too much of a risk.
Do you think the Portland Trailblazers regret taking Sam Bowie?

- PLindbergh31

so if Crosby had a stress fracture in his foot before the draft, you're taking Bobby Ryan

got it

I think he'll play at least a few NHL games. Injuries happen to the defense almost every year.
- Feanor

I know that. But I think Manning, and Alt would play before Morin. I guess if 3 regular dmen are down at once Morin could see action.

Depends. If it's a generational talent with the injury then you weigh the risks.
You are comparing Embiid to Crosby?

It depends when the injuries happen. If Hextall starts Morin in the AHL then I doubt he'd be the first call up in October. But in January or February after Morin has half a season of pro hockey under his belt it could be a different story. It also depends who gets hurt. If Streit or MDZ went down then they would probably want to replace them with Ghost. If Schultz, LSchenn or Gudas got hurt Morin might be the more appropriate replacement.

Remember how Laughton got called up when there was that weird Giroux injury that wasn't an injury situation?

The Sixers made the right pick at #3 that year. Even with the setbacks, I still 100% believe that.

The entire plan is based on taking risks for true greatness, not settling for mediocre.

If the recovery goes as planned, as it did for a guy like Ilgauskas for example, I'd expect him to be on the court next year.

Hasn't the recovery already failed to go as planned? Not big basketball fan, but it's quiet in here

not sure you realize how highly touted he was as a prospect

Simmons is a Celtics fan who would love nothing more than to rip the Sixers.
from after the setback news broke:

In 2014 multiple teams tried to trade up to no. 3 to take Embiid. Best value-vs-risk left by far. Philly made right pick. Whole thing sucks.

Another coach and great all 3 assistant coaches are still there
But does anybody know what Craig Berube is doing
Do blame him as the only one for last season is a bit tough and since he was fired
ABSOLUTELY no news about him not even rumors

yeah wasnt healing as fast as they hoped so they are doing a different surgery. Ilgauskas went through the same double surgery thing early in his career and came back to play 10 years as an all-star caliber Center.

Obviously I'm concerned, but the kid still has a chance to have a career.

Michael Jordan actually had the same surgery as Embiid. Bulls should have passed

Love it.

In what order do we trade the roster D to make room for the kids this season?

He certainly does. Other players have had their careers ended due to this injury. I think Hinkie's plan is very suspect at this point in time.

Nope. We should all give them a heads up though.

Well any thoughts on turning MDZ into a forward ( LW )
It might help a bit to get things sorted

I know but somehow they cant find an agreement. And I doubt it is a money issue alone as clearly MDZ knows that they cant give him AMac paycheck
Or are they just arguing about term of the contract ?

Actually it was 1984, so when the Bulls were choosing who to select, Jordan did not have the injury. So the obvious sarcastic comment was really irrelevant to the Embiid situation.
