not me, my Brother and Grandfather are big into it.. Deer, Moose etc..
I have over the years grown to hate it.. Its the internet, seeing some of those trophy hunting pics where people shoot giraffes and lions and other awesome animals just makes me so sad inside..I dont get it

The Rhino horn problem, elephants etc.. all very sad

I have a hard time hurting any animal on purpose

Same. It's just not for some people. I eat all the meat I shoot, I see no issues with that. Duck, goose, turkey, deer. That's about it. I'm not into that African big game hunting though. No need for that in the world. But woowee is shooting some waterfowl a good time.

Ya, I grew up doing it with my father and grandfather. We have a hunting camp in the family, my grandfather and his brothers built it in 1936. So, yup. We process every ounce of meat, and only shoot what we are going to eat. My longest kill was 610 yards in Alberta.

That's awesome man, my furthest is only about 300 yards. I was born into a hunting family as well..I usually go with my dad still. Got my wife into it now. Really enjoy being in the woods and on the water.

All people that have skill and cool/guts to kill an animal from close cleanly and quickly with a knife and consequently are able to skin and butcher the animal in a proper way, I have no problems with them. Normally these people are very considerate and good with animals, and in general the keep the killing to a minimum (related to their absolute needs for meat etc. from the animal).

The 'hunters' that are 'courageous' to kill an animal from 100ft+ away with a gun that could bring down a tank, and after the kill/wounding of the animal let others finish the job for them.... I feel it's better they find a different hobby.
- MaximusAurelius

Doesn't sound like it to me.. At all.. I would never hunt with just a knife, too easy to wound an animal. You want people hunting with large guns, to finish the animal quicker ,,, thus less trama for the animal..

You don't know what you are talking about.

I was not clear or you misread.
First bolded is what I understand describes you. (which I have no issues with at all)
Second bolded are those people who call themselves 'hunters' but are just mediocre shooters, not even able to make a proper kill themselves.

there's quite a few more interesting UFAs left available than in most other years.
some of these guys might be left without a job at start of season, and only sign with a team when a big injury comes up.
the outcome of hearings on RFAs will have some impact as well on signings/trades etc.
