So can't post positive prospect news, and it's that hard to believe that people on this site know AHL players? Bring it on...all on the up and up. - Deeps27
We're just giving you a hard time mate. It's certainly no stretch to believe it. But just cause an AHLer thinks that those guys will be a top four and top six player, doesn't necessarily make it true.

it's just a running joke... as you can see someone else just did it too.

He said take it for what it's worth. And it's worth whatever knowledge a player can give that has actually played with Kapanan and Harrigton. Which is more information you could give about these players. So again listen to what he said and take it for what it's worth.

For what it's worth:
Had dinner on the weekend with a WBS Penguin player who was on the roster last season - he is of the opinion that Harrington will have a long "top-4" d-man NHL career and provide a ton of leadership - not to be pigeon-holed into a purely shutdown d-man either...has some good puck skills and can contribute effectively on special teams.
While he had limited time with Kapanen, he says his skill level is off the charts and with at least 1, likely 2 full AHL seasons under his belt he'll be a legit top-6 sniper at the NHL level. Fast, works hard and is strong...by that timeline he'll be 20 in his first season as a Leaf if they are patient. - Deeps27

Its a dude on the internet that I don't know and no one knows who says he met with a player that he doesn't identify or no one knows so I've taken that for what its worth

Dubs to was a rockstar this year who single handedly turned the Wild's season around to see them into the playoffs... Oh yeah, and was a Vezina finalist.
What the (frank) did Bernier do that was even close? - As_I_See_It

I was eating dinner with a friend who works on the Marlies and he said that John Mitchell was going to be the greatest Leaf ever.
still say it needs to be 2 yrs I think. Augello is wrong about his UFA status. Bernier is UFA next summer (if he signs a 1 yr deal). - Badge
yup, that's always been my understanding too.
Which means the whole philosophy of this blog is wrong. It's Bernier that would LOVE a 1 yr deal (or arb award) b/c he'll get to UFAgency quicker. The Leafs are playing with fire if they don't get him locked up for 2-3 years. I'm guessing that the G'tending and Defence look better this year under Babcock and our new whipping boys will be the offence. Bernier's set up pretty good.
