I agree I would rather in the long haul Hayes at center. Although Moore is their best faceoff guy right now. Don't know if I would move him from center? Maybe start Oscar at wing? Might help him get adjusted more comfortably to the pro game and change it later.

True, just seems everyone wants to put Oscar at center. I honestly haven't seen him play, so I was just basing it on everyone elses comments.

I have high hopes for Etem, but he couldn't score playing on a line with Getzlaf and Perry. I think 25 goals out of the shoot is a little to generous haha. I would take 15 or so goals and 15 or so assists from him

I expect Hagelin-like numbers from Etem. Since Hagelin never put up daunting numbers I don't think that is too much to ask.

I'll be happy with 25 points as long as all those points are goals

25-30 points from Etem is fair to expect if he gets the ice time needed to increase his production.

The physical ability is there he needs to find chemistry with linemates and figure out what it takes to be a solid top nine NHL regular.

I think two players on the Rangers will scored 25 this year, Nash and Kreider. And for Kreider, if he reaches just 25, that will be 4 better than any season he's had to date.

Hags is a career 35 point type guy. If Etem can get to 25-30 points, that would be successful, IMO.

ya but come on, haglin brings so much more than just being a points guy

Fast really matured in the playoffs with increased responsibility. Kid stays healthy he is going to be an excellent bottom six depth player for them.

Absolutely. He is a great third liner that forechecks, creates energy, kills penalties, and is reasonably offensively productive, especially given the fact that he plays third line minutes and doesn't play the PP.

I am not expecting Etem to step into Hagelin's role entirely. I think Fast will have to do some of things that Hagelin does as will others. If Etem can provide something close to Hagelin's offensive numbers on the third line, I think that will be good. But, others will definitely have to pitch in with the other things.

Yup, I could honestly see him moving anywhere in the lineup. Seemed to play well wherever AV put him. Very versatile player.

Plus, his PK performance was really unreal. The fact that he was on the ice for a PP goal until very late in the season was something else, and even the one that was eventually scored was a bit of a fluke.

Likely not an ideal second line winger for an entire season but an absolute stud for your third or fourth line.

Hagelin was nothing more than a bottom six winger. His speed was impressive, as was his flow, but he's absolutely replaceable.

Yeah I didn't mean Fast was going to be a permanent fixture on the 1st or 2nd lines, but I could see him as a fill in if an injury or something. Still very young though and just starting his pro career, who knows what his ceiling is yet.

Oscar is a true center. Led Swedish junior league in faceoff percentage for 3 straight years (60.4%). imo our 3C! 30-35 pts

Fast did show a penchant for scoring in his amateur and minor league days. Who knows, he does have an above average skillset and he thinks the game really well. I like the kid; think he is more the immediate Hagelin replacement especially in terms of defensive responsibilities.

Exactly, its why I think his play this year will be more of how people will view the Hagelin trade, than Etem will.

I am a scotch/whiskey guy, and end up spending way too much money on the good stuff. With that said, I am not the type that can describe wine or scotch to people in an intelligent way. Basically, the extent of my analysis is that I like what tastes good to me.

Never heard of Old Fitzgerald, but that doesn't mean much. Sounds like it has amazing potential, however.

My standards are Macallans, Dalwinney, Glenmorangie, and older Glen Livets. I like Jameson's gold on the whiskey side. Norway Pete seems to like Laphroig, which I need to try.

Kind of depends what taste you like, and people will talk about Peat levels in scotch, which is basically very old dirt in Scottish bogs that is used to fire Scotch. The Peatier, for lack of a better phrase, the smokier, if you like that sort of thing.

does anyone wonder if Hayes might come into the year being "Strong" at faceoffs? he started getting better later last season and if he works at he can get better, so my question is, if he comes into camp as good at faceoffs, do you even consider moving him to wing?

I equate faceoffs to foul shooting in basketball. The more you work at them, the better you should become. Hayes needs to put in the time watching tape of other players tendencies and practicing on the ice. If he does he will be fine.

Looked it up online, supposedly it was considered one of Kentucky's best bourbons back in the day, before it was bought by someone else.

The only Whiskey I have ever enjoyed was a bottle of Jameson's Limited that I got as a gift. When I saw the price after I finished the bottle, I have never had it since.
