If healthy, I really think Gudas has a future here. He's only played 224 NHL games and being a righty, I think there is value. I hope he could be type of dman who a team could carry with a cap hit of between $3.5- $4 million past the age of 27. He'll never be a big point producer, but contribute on the PK and hopefully make a decent first pass. - ravishingone
From what I hear he does bring a little grit to this soft flyer squad. Only issue is the speed factor. Hearing he is not a great skater. |

Ek including Streit among the D men the Flyers are currently shopping.
That seems unlikely. |

I kind of look towards the Kings model for the blueline. Hexy is going to have to draft his Doughty and hopefully out of these prospects someone emerges. However, a guy like Gudas could fill the Matt Greene role. Play some PK, play good positional defense and give a pass to a forward other then just chipping it up the boards.

Flyers should really think about extending Couts long term this offseason. Would be a great opportunity to buy low and hope to save long term. 6 year deal would be good.
Might be wise to look to extend Raffl long term too. If he spends this whole season with G and Jake along with getting PP time, he could be in for a monster year.
Obviously need to extend Jake too. Hopefully gives a bit of a discount ($7.5M range). Seems to like playing/living in Philly area - PhillySportsGuy
I think Couts is going to continue to show slow improvement but improvement none the less. In a couple years his numbers could be solid for us. Not a bad idea to book him cheaper now.
As far as Raffl. Not sure I bet on him yet. |

I think Streit is likely to be gone by the TDL, not so likely to be gone by the season opener. This is my idiot opinion, and I reserve the right to be wrong. |

Well, currently the price is right for Gudas. He is cheap and if he can play that roll effectively then maybe he can help. In the least he is more then able to bring us something back on a trade at the deadline. He has value with a low cap hit |

If we're on the outside looking in at the deadline I think Streit is the big trade piece the team has. If they trade him right now they're going to be left scrambling from the get go. |

I have to admit, I'm a little in the dark on Medv and Gudas. They are wild cards IMO. not sure how they will fit. Hexy said he believed the Russian to be a top 4 pairing. I have to ask, on this team or average D teams. If it is average D teams then he has top pairing promise on our squad
Also, where does Gudas fit in? Seen some highlights of big hits but word is he is slow. Is that being inflated? - peesinwind
I think everybody is. First year in NA for Medvedev, and Gudas is a wild card. I'm going to keep an open mind on the latter and see what transpires.
