If he accepted a trade here, really doesn't seem like a bad idea to me. Not like I'm hot for it, but it could be decent.
- TheSabresTaco

I would rather him than Franson.

He's a LD, 2 more years at $5.25M and could help mentor some of the young kids. If he waives I would think the fly boys would want a roster player. Stuart or Quincey might come cheaper.

I mentioned him along with Kyle Quincey and Mark Stuart. Not much interest amongst the populous here. I'd trade for Streit, eat up minutes, play the PP. Good d partner for Risto imo.

I wouldn't hate Streit.

Over in the Philly thread they would want a 2nd, Makarov and Possler for Streit. Doubtful on Possler but I would do a 2nd and Makarov. They would want our 1st but that won't happen.

After the Lehner deal, I believe EVERYONE thinks they can get a 1st off of TM. I also think his willingness to deal firsts was a product of having three of them and a fully stocked prospect pool. Going forward I'd expect him to be a little more stingy with his 1sts.

Including 3 3rd rd picks. We might move a few of those at the deadline or before.

Glad he traded that girth of prospects. Again it's not the 50 contract limit that's a problem. No team ever lost a valuable player to that problem. It's expansion teams that are inevitably entering league stealing prospects because we can't protect everyone.

In that said I think murray will keep his future firsts to fill out the prospect pool that was emptied.

Any player on the ELC is automatically protected from any expansion draft

Guess that's true. Expansion won't happen at earliest for 3 seasons. All those Guys would still prob be on entry contracts. I forgot they don't start until they hit the required NHL games

With the unbalanced conferences, two new teams in the west seems to be the direction the league would go. After moving Detroit to the east, it'd be hard to imagine they'd move another one to the west (although personally, I'd nominate Columbus). Vegas seems close to a certainty. KC is out. Seattle possible? It'd kind of be a for Quebec to lose out again, be it seems likely.

Move Florida to Quebec

Give the Expansion teams to two of KC, Vegas, or Seattle.

Call it a day.

I have family in Kansas City. If you put a product worth supporting on the ice, they will support it there.

Prospective Seattle NHL owner Victor Coleman will not submit an expansion bid by the NHL’s July 20 deadline.
Coleman was one of Seattle’s best hopes to bring hockey to the city, but he will not pay the $10-million application fee until he finalizes the location for a new stadium. Coleman is relying on $200 million in public funding for a new arena, but the City will not provide the money until an NBA franchise is awarded. Coleman says he is still committed to bring hockey to Seattle, but Connecticut-based investment banker Ray Bartoszek now has a chance to get the job done. Bartoszek is in the process of buying land to build a privately funded arena, though it is still unknown whether he will submit a proposal to the NHL by Monday.

I miss those cool looking uniforms. Good logo, and the fleur de lis trim along the bottom was a very nice touch. If they came back, I'd hope they'd keep it the same. Winnipeg's new ones seem pretty blah to me.
