1st. Not that I care.
Question, if he starts in Brandon and its determined that he needs a higher level of competition, are the Flames able to reassign him to Stockton? Oh because of the rules on Europeans coming over i thought this may be an option. Todd? Do you know? |

I said it last Kylington blog, the Fan interviewed Hakan Loob and it was his opinion he would be best served to get out of Sweden and play over here (AHL or NHL). He had some issues with his coach and developed a "reputation". I don't think it would be a bad thing in Brandon but I think he'll develop faster in the A... |

He's not going to get any better being anywhere near Hartley... |

You can't be serious...? That was a complete fluke.. the guys garbage. Reminds of the same situation as a bad player being good in playoffs and getting overpayed. They should have let Bob leave and then watch him crash and burn |

What was? Him instilling a work ethic and style of play that let a team that had no business competing in the West let alone making the playoffs or actually winning a round? Right fluke... |

Bob didn't install anything, Burkie just signed a bunch of guys who play that way. If you think that "hard work ethic" system is going to get them anywhere it wont. Teams will outmatch them and leave Hartley like a fool, he's nothing more then washed up motivational speaker. You need a good soak |

Wouldn't be able to move up to the AHL until his WHL season is over if he goes that route |

You meant Treliving... Ever coached ? have you ever seen a Flames practice? Benching Wideman was a coaching decision. Benching Gaudreau was a coaching decision. Career year for Wideman, almost rookie of the year for JG. Line choices are coaching decisions. Listen to the players after every game...
You need to stop soaking in piss and vinegar bud...
Babcock he's not but year 3 of a rebuild, he's EXACTLY what this team needs |

It would be interesting to find out what happened with the kid. My understanding is that in Sweden he was playing tier 1 but got moved down to tier 2.
Why did he get demoted? Attitude? Not physically developed enough?
If he could not handle Tier one hockey in Sweden not really sure he can handle the AHL.
Hope he can. |

AHL, don't want him to get trapped in that bloody CHL mess until he is 20. |

So he can play his final year of junior eligibility against inferior competition than he played the two prior years in the AHL? Seems like a dumb idea that no one does for a good reason.

How is the AHL even possible? I believe the CHL agreement prohibits him from being eligible since his rights are held by a CHL team due to his age.
It's basically NHL, WHL or SEL for him unless there's some sort of brilliant loophole that can be exposed that really pisses off the CHL. |

I'm pretty sure since he hasn't played for a WHL team he can be assigned to the AHL. Canadian players are not able to go into the AHL unless they played in one of the Euro leagues for their junior career. I think the USHL has the same agreement with the AHL that the CHL does. |

Players out of European leagues can play in the AHL at 18. If he played in the WHL last season then he wouldn't be able to. |

I dislike the Flames as much as the next guy but the FACT is they made the playoffs last year and the fact that they did it speaks volumes considering they play in the west and no one gave them a shot in the pre season to do so.....If Dallas Eakins had been coaching that team last year there is no way they would have made it in so to say that Hartley had nothing to do with it seems rather silly to me.....good coaches inspire good play out of their players and thats exactly what he did so yes he deserves alot of credit for their success last year.....the team looks better on paper now then it did at the beginning of last season so I wouldnt be surprised if they did it again
EDIT: Not only did they make the playoffs but they made it to the second round |

Does anyone here think that Jankowski will turn out to be a good pick after all?
What if he lights it up with the Friars this year?
At 20 years old, he has filled out considerably. With that in mind, combined with his obvious skill, does Jankowski have a shot in the top 9 with the Flames come 2016-17?
I noticed on Today's Slapshot that the Flames blogger has him pegged as a future 4th line center at best. I call shenanigans!! |
