On that last one, if they're right on Risto/Girgs, having them at 4-4.5 mil cap hits makes it easier for them to overpay for FA's. - Sabresfan-365
You could do 5yr deals but you then run into a Victor Hedman type situation where you ate up all the RFA years and the player is now 25-26 and is a UFA at the end of it. |

It's possible he asks for a contract like what Myers got after seeing O'Reilly get big money.
I was thinking of Klingberg as a comparable. If Risto has a big year I think he'll get a similar deal. - Sabresfan-365
Well, that falls right within what DD said. I just get the feeling he's gonna want closer to 5 per. |

Yea if they go that route they really have to bank on winning during their RFA's "soft years" as in try and build a winner while Eichel and Reinhart are still making peanuts on the cap.
Did Chicago win one before Kane and Toews signed their bridge deals? |

Yup. They were both in the final year of their ELCs.
EDIT: They actually signed them Dec 2009. So technically prior to winning their first Cup. |

Fair enough
But this recent cluster in nc aside, shark attacks are pretty rare
More ppl die getting hit in the head from falling coconuts on a yearly basis
Ps
Skydiving is FREAKING AMAZING
I sincerely recommend it
It's also super safe
There's backup chutes that go off automatically when u reach a certain height & they make u jump w a certified instructor - jdfitz77
the coconut thing is BS, but shark attack deaths are incredibly rare. Just remember; don't linger in water that is murky, waist deep or shallower that's where the vast majority of attacks happen.

I'm 20 minutes from a very tourist-laden beach...I haven't been in the ocean besides up to my ankles from the surf in years. |

I held a shark when I was in Cancun on vacation. It was pregnant and weighed about 300lbs. |

I was in the Gulf last week. Saw a few sting rays and said you know there is a reason I like pools better and got out. |

His blowup a couple years ago putting it in the water a handful of times(at the players i believe?) Might have been the greatest thing i have ever seen in golf. - ieetbred

And let's not forget Phil at the US Open maybe 5 years ago when he had a relatively easy 30ish yard pitch, but hit it soft and it rolled back down the hill right to where he was standing. Oh and he did it 4 times in a row before finally getting on the dance floor. |

when was it that phil put one off the barn on the hole 18 when all he had to do was par for the win? |

The best part about that awful piece was failing to mention Edmonton would still be able to match any offer...like that part was just totally forgotten, unless the new CBA miraculously offers one team a shot to offersheet a player and their team just gets the compensation and doesn't get to match LOL |

I stopped reading it when I got to the part that says in a few years they have $22 million tied up in 4 players. As if they would choose to keep one of those 4 over McDavid. |

Shark deaths are incredibly rare, but shark attacks still aren't exactly pleasant.
you can survive one but lose a limb or have serious damage for the rest of your life.
Surfers look like sea lions to a shark. thats why they often give a bump first, to figure out what they're looking at.
Either way, I'd prefer to not be on the biting end of those teeth. Ever.

Mike Weber would be such a good defenseman if he would just stop wearing so much suck.
I prefer my defenseman natural and not too flashy like Nic Lindstrom.
Because think about it.
After a night of sweaty taint, that taint is still there in the morning but the suck isn't even if they wore it the night before.
I have no idea what I'm talking about and I'm terribly sexually frustrated.
Please, I need this forum for when my wife hates me.
Which is always.
