Yes he does. He has better skills behind the mic and also doesn't rock the boat. He will be a valuable asset, if they decide to move him. Should they? Absolutely! - PrinceLH
IMO they would get the best return from the ducks, hawks or caps
With the amount of Leaf fans you get the whole spectrum of them . From smart as a fence post too good hockey IQ . - cabin
That's true...Because of the number of Leaf fans, the idiotic ones just seem so much louder then your average fan base.
I am a huge Leaf fan and you have no clue how many battles I have had with other Leaf fans.
I disagee.....yes, he is young enough, but in 4 years, he'll be making top dollar and will be at the tail end of his 20's. Now is the absolute best time to move this guy. 3 more cap friendly years, a good goal scorer, with net presence in the paint. If we were competing, sure....keep him, but the amazing assets coming back is worth the move.......and for the Sabres fan who was asking about seeing the Leafs win the Cup....yeah, it was grand. It was even better that they made the Habs take the Cup out of the Quebec Trophy case, at Expo'67, and take it to the Ontario pavilion and place it there. The Sabres tied the Rangers 4 - 4 in their first ever exhibition game, in Peterborough, Ontario. Goalies where Giacomin for the Rangers, Crozier for the Sabres....... - PrinceLH
Yes in 4 years he will be 28......
Lets get rid of Rielly to then right? In 5 years he will be 26 and will be making top dollar.
in 6 months, they have added 4 legit top 6 players for this coming season
reinhart, eichel, ror and kane
I have never seen that happen before in one off season
Nolan was over his head as an NHL coach and if Lehner provides average goaltening, I fully expect them to compete for the 8th spot int he east this season
Sabres hockey has sucked since briere and drury walked and regier should have taken the 4 first rd picks from the oilers for vanek - homiedclown
I agree with some of that but you haven't mentioned the defence.....which is what wins last time I checked.......and Reinhardt and eichel are unproven......Kane is a bandaid with an attitude

Some are great . Some make you want to kill a maple tree with fire.
I have fun with them . never a major problem. Although.. First ban ever was because he/she thought they knew our team better than us .

they need a d man, honestly they may need two
kane and ror will make their special teams better but it comes down to chemistry and how the kids adapt
eichel may turn out to be the second best prospect since crosby
reinhart isn't bad
I hope the coach opens up and lets the kids skate instead of trying to win games 2-1, this team could be fun to watch for a change come fall
Makes no sense for the Leafs to make that trade unless they get a significant future piece.....JVR already is a pretty significant piece that is still young and cheap....so for an offer like that, they are better off keeping him. - Cooshie
Well mueller is a former first round draft pick who will become a top 4 dman at least, nieto is a former 2nd round pick who looks like he will develop into 2nd line winger, and jevpalovs just scored 100 points in the Q and I would be surprised if he doesn't see playing time in the nhl in the next couple years. So potentially that's 3 significant future pieces and then wingels who is already better captain material than pretty much everyone on the leafs current roster. JVR is a good player, and I can understand leafs fans wanting to keep him, but if they're serious about trading I don't think a lot of teams will be willing to trade their top prospect plus... Mueller + goldobin would easily be a win for Toronto IMO

Silly to do a full career analysis when you have a guy on the upswing and younger vs a guy on the downswing and older.
Since 2012:
Drew: 40 goals, 93pts in 192 games (29yrs old beginning of next season)
JVR: 75 goals, 149pts in 210 games (26yrs old as of May)
That is much more relevant to any current evaluation of the 2 hockey players. - Cooshie
Good call. Gotta take in account the losing mentality of the team the past 2 seasons . Not saying is was put forth by the coach,GM and owner . But that was kinda the plab in our rebuild .

So glad it's over now . - cabin
Well, as a Leaf fan, it will be more interesting for me to watch the Marlies the next season or 2 then the Leafs.
Hell, I think Babcock should coach the Marlies - will be better use of his time.

we were that way the last 2 seasons, then murray trades away the players we watched, armia, gringo, etc
