Well said".........the undervaluing of JVR on here is absurd.......I'm fine keeping him if u get a 1C JVR will show his true value
- casevo17

He may improve with a 1C and show his true value but as of now this is his actual value. I think he will be better as well and would love to see him play with couture but it will probably never happen. Most of you leafs fans are asking for a top prospect +. Many of these prospects you are asking to trade for are capable of putting up JVR's numbers in the next 1-2 seasons and are on their Elc's so are even cheaper than JVR. It's safe to say they won't be included in the trade. Teams that are trading for JVR will likely make the playoffs so you can expect to get a late 1st round pic and 2 decent prospects, all of which my trade included. I guess we can have this talk again at the trade decline and see how well these players are doing because I doubt either Nash or JVR will be traded now

what's the value of keeping a jVr during a rebuild that will last at least 3-4 years? sell him high
- Flyfreaky

I'd trade him as a rental player just before his contract runs out. 1 mil (ish) for JVR should be attractive for a team heading into the playoffs.

Don't care about a roster player.....rather take a higher end prospect or pick as part of the other piece(s) rather then the roster player.

tough not take salary back in a trade.

Maybe from Washington Johansson, Vrana and a 2nd for JVR?

To me, he's a better player and on a better contract than Oshie.

So the return should be better than a Brouwer (20 goal roster player), a b-goalie prospect and a 3rd.

not sure if he'll be able to sustain his value on a depleted leafs team

you might not get what you can get right now

I don't think he'll score much less than what he has been doing. Plenty of PP time. Play with Kadri, should be in and around 22-25 goals. Not many teams in the East have a defense corps worth writing home about. The only player he lost is Kessel, who, as we know from years of debate was selfish, a cancer in the room, fat, lazy, overpaid and not very good.

JVR should be fine
