Corporations already outsource as much as they can to countries with no minimum wage, do you really think this will change there mindset on automation one bit? They would/will be attempting to if the minimum was 5 an hour.

No, but I absolutely do believe that it would accelerate and prioritize projects that revolved around outsourcing and automation.

That being said, we're talking about the fast food industry, where outsourcing is essentially irrelevant. There are still yearly fixed and variable costs of operating an automated system. Right now, they seem to hover around the same level as the minimum wage. Raise the minimum wage, and all of a sudden, your return on investment just became greater.

If you're trading Girgensons plus for a left-handed defenseman, he had better be an all-star bordering on franchise defenseman. I'm still not sure OEL is that.

Grabbing a UFA d-man isn't the same as the proposed trade to get OEL.

While the UFA list for next year probably looks great, 95% of the good players on that list will be re-signed just like every year, and the Oduyas/Fransons of the NHL will be the "big catch"

I don't think the Yotes move their franchise d man and I just don't like the idea of trading Girgs. We can get a solid top 4 dman next year.

Its already been stated by the CEO's of these corporations and labor boards that if this happens many will lose jobs. you are talking a millions in increased wages. Layoffs and automation will happen. it has been estimated only 2% of the below poverty line will benefit from this. but again not time or place for this debate.

Also, you don't just pick up a 3C to score 25G, you trade for a package that gets you 25G and a 1LHD. btw, Ekman-Larson does that in a single individual.

top 4 d men (risto, bogo, maybe pysyk, blank)

I think if you really want your fans to resent you big time you trade Girgensons. Fans gave endured franchise faces, captains and prospects being traded in recent years.
I think we've convinced ourselves each and every trade was justifiable, but this one would be too much.

In order to do that, the middle class has to vote people in with the balls to do that. The middle class hasn't done that in a long, long time because it's been way too attached to the establishment political parties, Democrats and Republicans alike.
