Nashville would be a perfect fit. They have the cap space and a very strong Defence and prospects.

That would give them instant offence.

Nashville and the Sedins would be scary

Alas, to pull off that kind of deal you would first of all require the agreement of the principals, which as I've touched on before, is not going to happen. As much as I'd love to see the Sedins win a cup, there is no way any sort of trade like that comes to fruition. The Sedins will either retire as Canucks (my - and I'm sure most people's sentiments) or they will go back to Sweden and perhaps play a few more years there, playing in front of family and friends and re-establishing their family life there.

Can he support this statement with cold hard facts, or is his wife's sisters, brothers, 2nd cousins, stepson that lives in Edmonton his source?

Hamhuis seems like a really quiet, east going guy, don't think I've seen him pissed at anything.

He is a guy that has his ear to police scanners and science worlds , but no . He didn't give me anything concrete. He is usually not wrong though. He is sort of a know it all, but not the annoying type

Hate to say it, but I hope he's wrong. I like Hamhuis and Vrbata and him are really the only good trading chips. I would hate to see another Kesler demand out.

If JB fcuks this up I may have to join Nucker in Calgary.

I think that's more of a PR move rather than anything else. They are the consummate team players so they're not going to say 'no, we aren't moving under any circumstances'. But as touched on, I firmly believe there are just those two scenarios realistically. And those are, retiring as Canucks or going back to Sweden to play in front of friends and family.

P.S. do you have a link to that particular article? it would be interesting to read in its entirety

It was really much ado about nothing. A Swedish reporter asked them the question and this was the gist of it:

"Predictably, the twins said they had no intention of finishing their careers with any other team. Even if it meant a better chance at winning a Stanley Cup.

At the same time, they didn’t outright say they wouldn’t waive their no-movement clauses should the Canucks ever ask them to. Like, say, in the final year of their deals (2017-18)'

Doesn't sound like anything new or much to worry about. Again, I don't think the Sedins would outright say they have no interest in helping the team by being traded. That's just not part of the Sedin makeup, but by the same token, it's pretty much a given that they have such a firm commitment to the team and want to retire as Canucks.

I saw the article. Henrik never said that. Conjecture from the person writing or posting the article. It was from a Swedish paper.

nice write-up of the top four players for each franchise by Larry Brooks at New York Post...

"VANCOUVER: Pavel Bure, Trevor Linden, The Sedins, Markus Naslund."

That is the only way I see them ever waiving. Last year of their contract, team that wants them, wants both for a cup run. All the stars aligning sort of stuff.

Maybe the Sedins go back to the Canucks the following season or go to a team like Detroit for a season or two and then sign a 1 day contract with the Canucks and retire.

I don't mind them staying and retiring as Canucks.

I'd like to see them raise a cup, but I don't see it happening. Not with the Canucks, and I can't see a legitimate contender trading for them, unless there has been some discussion already and a team is already preparing for it.

Most likely they will retire as Canucks and half of Vancouver will be glad and the other half will be trying to drive them out of town.

I really don't think the team will ever be in a position where they have 5M+ in cap space. They'll spend it to make sure ticket sales don't plummet. I'm fine with that but I'd like to see more Vrbata type signings or what TO did with Winnik/Santo. Sign guys who can be flipped for picks to speed up the rebuild. More quality picks = higher chance of getting a quality ELC player.
