They got a pretty good return if that's the case. Considering what Benning got for his problem child. - Nucker101
Nice little subtle dig at Benning. Kassian was a drunk mess and Sven didn't appreciate getting ripped by Burke and being stuck on the 4 th line. Hardly a problem child, nice try though

It's not all that subtle, it's pretty overt, actually. And he has a point.

I'd like to see them raise a cup, but I don't see it happening. Not with the Canucks, and I can't see a legitimate contender trading for them, unless there has been some discussion already and a team is already preparing for it.
Most likely they will retire as Canucks and half of Vancouver will be glad and the other half will be trying to drive them out of town. - CubanBuffet
They were the driving force behind the best years, so far, of the franchise. But it's not enough if there isn't a cup.
Hate to say it, but I hope he's wrong. I like Hamhuis and Vrbata and him are really the only good trading chips. I would hate to see another Kesler demand out.
If JB fcuks this up I may have to join Nucker in Calgary. - Makita
Fcuks it up in what sense? I know what you are saying but let's, for discussion purposes assume the return at the TDL is a 2nd round pick. Do you make the trade or lose him for nothing in the summer? Who knows what Bennings best offer will be? Of course he wants a 1st and high end prospect but I suspect we will over value our assets per usual around Van
Looks great on them. Didn't think I could dislike that franchise any more than I already do but with every article I read about them, the hatred grows stronger and stronger.
Higgins goals were very nice last year. - A_SteamingLombardi
Vrbata and the Sedins had some beauties. Vrbata is the only natural goal scorer on the team. Matthias, Bonino had some nice ones and Richardson of all people had some nice finishes.
Bonino and Vrbata I'd say are the only two who can beat a goalie cleanly with some regularity.
Once the twins retire how fast do you think the canucks will get their numbers to the rafters? I'm betting it's pretty darn quick.
Hopefully replace some of the 'divisional champ' banners they have up there. So embarrassing. - bloatedmosquito
As far as I am concerned they could put them up in the rafters on the first home opener this year. It is not a question of if , it is a question of when. Let them enjoy seeing their numbers up there.
I also think their will be a serious push at TDL this year or next to move them to a contender. More and more people are getting on board with the rebuild.
I am not saying the twins won't retire as Canucks , but in the last year , the players that have been traded like Kessel Kesler Bieksa Kane Saad Sharp Grigerenko Myers LUcic Hamilton and the names that have been rumoured to be on the block like Phanuef Chara Thorton Nash Marleau Staal Malkin you have to see there is a possibility that Hamhuis and the Sedins could be on that list too.

I think the Vancouver market is very susceptible to hysteria when the topic of moving franchise players is discussed. I remember the angst when bertuzzi or Naslund or luongo's contracts were up and they were negotiating extensions. Folks were ready to jump off the bridge just thinking about losing these players.

Every player is replaceable. - bloatedmosquito
The last year of Naslunds contract , fans wanted him gone. The same thing can happen again in a year or two
