The Tertyshny death was tragic, but the fact that he never got to meet his son and that his son never got to meet his father is very sad indeed. |

I think it's more about the perception versus the reality. Some perceive them as low hanging fruit. To each their own.
I see the issue as more about the collective, rather than the defenseman as individuals. |

Back during the Mike Keenan coaching era, the irascible Flyers head coach frequently used a motivation ploy with the Sutter twins of punishing one for something the other did. In fact, Keenan once kicked Rich off the bench during a game and ordered him back to the dressing room strictly to humiliate Ron for having a thus-far subpar night. The shock tactic was also aimed at the rest of the team in a game the Flyers trailed.
What a lunatic. |

Can the Flyers keep both Schenn and Gudas? They seem to bring nearly the same skillset to the team. - wolfhounds
I need to see Gudas play a little more before making a decision on that. They do seem to bring the same type of game, but they are also our only righties.
If Gudas comes in and impresses, or at least shows that he can provide what Luke does, then I would be open to moving Luke simply because Gudas is cheaper. |

I go with a bit of both. Individual talent is going to impact the group. Once Timonen was diagnosed, then the season started and Coburn was hurt/under-performing, we were left with a bunch of middling d-men who weren't quite getting it done (as a whole) from game to game. IMO. |

As long as Lou is fair to him, Trump won't have to buy a franchise in Hamilton.

All kidding aside, I do not "hate" Andrew MacDonald. Hell, I don't even know the guy. I just think that at 5 more years at 5 million per season, he is overpaid and that they could find the same production at a lesser cost.
To quote a line from one of my favorite movies, it's not personal, it's only business. If I could move any dman currently on the Flyers roster, it would be MacDonald and it's primarily because of his contract. If he was going into year 2 of a 4 year, 16 million dollar deal, I"d have no problem with him.

Lou Lamoriello new GM of the Leafs. - PLindbergh31
Wow. I would have thought Lou would have stayed retired.
What does that say about how he feels about the Devils ownership situation?
Lou really has zero to prove, so if he fails in TO, it's not like anyone would think less of him. He's made his bones, several times over. |

I'm actually rooting for AMac to play up to that contract. I'm just not sure he can.
And with Luke Schenn....I think he's an OK guy to have around as a bottom pairing guy. 500+ games in, he "is what he is" at this point. |

The NHL is littered with guys who can provide the same production MacDonald does for a fraction of the cost. I don't even dislike MacDonald he is what he is. My issue is with the Bozo that gave him the contract. |
