I understand and agree with your frustration. When you permaban the regulars like jero, iggy, ha, chet, dangles, yman, horseguts, rutts, etc.. it really loses about 75% of its character and almost all of it'd bulk. Hell. Even jb was an ok poster who mixed hockey and conversational crap. At least we still have is, hb, oilfan16, oilerfan19, saskoil, abware, ha#16, Coga and a couple others. I really think jero and dangles were the ring leaders though. They kind of made this thread.

Gadzig is a role player but he is not worth playing on the NHL club. He is suppose to be a goon and he can fight. What he doesn't do is fight players that take liberties with our young talent. He often faces off against a nobody on the other team looking to prove they can both fight. In terms of grinders he is not great at taking the body either. He is lacking offensive and defensive talent. He has little to no speed and doesn't fit the Oilers style of play.

Oilers have a top 6 of RNH, McDavid, Hall, Eberle, Yak and Leon. Their next two lines have Purcell, Pouliot, Lander, Letestu and 2 of Korpikoski, Klinkhammer or Hendricks. They all offer more of a physical aspect in terms of being able to keep up with players and take the body. The difference is that they also have more upside and useful skills. All I would say are faster, have defensive ability but also can look to be shutdown guys that can contribute offensively if it is needed. Gadzig looks to be the second replacement on wing but he has never been good.

I don't have much time for Purcell with the squad we currently have.
if we cant move him, im happy to have him as a quality skilled depth guy. but id much rather run some physicality (korpikoski, pitlick, even Hendricks etc) on any line that he may be earmarked for.
