If he can contribute a little bit, not be a liability on defense, then it's okay to be a "good fighter". Unfortunately, Gazdic, as great and charismatic as he is, is not good enough as a player to be a "good fighter". If you have a guy out there that is a liability on the score sheet, he has to be a monster, he has to be a guy that when he steps over the boards (not climbs...steps), everyone is aware that he's on the ice now, etc.

Gazdic is just a crappy player who can drop 'em and hold his own. You can't tell me they can't go out and get a 3rd or 4th liner that can play better and fight as good as him.

If not, I believe a complete monster of a goon (McIntyre style) is just as useful taking up the grocery-stick spot on the bench and use him for 3min a game when needed.
