It won't be a popular consideration, but I'm pretty sure Horvat will be waiver exempt and can play in the AHL this year, if there are issues keeping some players in the NHL or risk loosing them to waivers... - 1970vintage

This is it until September . Benning was last reportedly seen on the beaches of Greece in his Speedo drinking piña coladas |

Brandon Carlo took a beating on these boards pre draft. Mostly by Nucker. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and Nucker even brought numbers to support his theory. Mackenzie Stewart was another player that took a bashing on these threads . Both players had a very noticeable prospect camp and stood out.
It will be interesting to see this discussion in 2016-17.
I have no idea how our draft pick Brock B is and not even suggesting anything. I am wishing we traded one of our players for an early second rounder. I wouldn't have minded talking a chance with the 33 or 34 th pick on Carlo |

I had no interest in him at all. Top end Swedes can be very good , but he wasn't top end |

I personally was in the camp of those who wanted us to try and move up to the 5-10 range and tried for Provorov. I never thought Benning could pull it off with what he had available, but it would have been nice. We'll see though, Brock's looks like he's got the hands and nose for the net, at the very least he could top out as an elite 1st line sniper on the wing ala Kane. |

This is boredom setting in , so take it for what it is , just fantasy talk , and no not the good stuff.
The Leafs have been looking for a trade partner for Phanuef. 30 years old 5 years left at 7 mil per so 35 mil over 5 years.
A comparable is Edler. 29 years old 4 years left for 20 mil.
That would be a stupid trade for the money alone even though both players are similar.
Throw Sbisa into the mix 3 years 10.8 mil .
Leafs move a big contract. We move one bad one. It is 35 mil over 31 and we get another year service .
I think Nucker would be on the yes side.

It's a hell no. I don't think that Phaneuf deserves all of the shlt that he takes, but he deserves a lot of it. Toronto can keep their metro-sexual caveman.
I don't think that Sbisa would be that hard to move. If Tim Murray is as stupid as I think he is, he would at least get picked up on waivers. And Edler could actually get us something. More than an overpriced under-brained signed forever D man anyways. |

Subtraction by addition.
At around $5mil, Phaneuf's contract wouldn't look so bad, but by the end of his contract, we would be having what looks like petitions but would actually be lists of people willing to drive him to yvr. Uber would have nothing on the amount of people volunteering to drive him.
Then again, by the time his contract expires, we could just teleport him away.

And everyone else that's not in the future plans 2 years from now. I'm on board for a tank this year only so that two years from now when the Sedins are in their last year, they can win the cup as second or third liners haha |

Welcome aboard the tank train. It's a bit of a bumpy ride but the end destination is well worth it. |
