I guess you have to resort to other measures when your love for McDavid and Eichel goes unrequited

That guy can't spell anything right. All I got out of it was "Wayne Gretzky Overtime Hockey" and a couple player names.

a couple of weeks ago I dug up my old cards from my parents, basement and my son and I put this particular set in order in binders.

Never seen a bigger hockey card set, 705 cards, one for each coach, ref and linesman, all-stars, rookies, top draft picks, each Team had a card with team facts, there was even a card for The Puck explaining the characteristics of the puck.

I never collected cards. I had a bunch of baseball cards sets, but it was mostly for the gum.

I got really into it when I was in my first couple of years of high school but at the time everybody got back into the collectibles thing and suddenly you had 5-6 companies making huge sets, subsets, alternate sets and packs went from a buck apiece to 3-4 dollars.

so many cards flooded that none of them gained any value but I still have them it's pretty cool to check out once in a while.

bro I remember me and cousin Ed running to the store the morning after Brett Hull scored his 70th or something because we thought we were the only ones who thought about it and we were gonna scoop up all his cards and make millions.

we got there and it was Sunday so the store was closed or opened later or some poop like that

in 91 my brother had his bar mitzvah and we had the party at our house. some relatives from NYC stayed with us and as a gift they brought me a box (not a pack, a (frank)ing unopened box) of Upper Deck. there were some great finds in there. anyhow i left the whole box in the living room and one of his poop-eating friends stole the whole (frank)ing thing and i never found out who. haunts me to this day bro.

I did the baseball on the year pete rose beat the hits record.

I finished all the book except for one sticker.

the front page had a shiny 4 part picture of pete rose"s face.

the missing top right corner of his head has been haunting me for over 30 years.
