Oh he had a great season to be sure. But usually when a closer has 9 wins, means he blew a bunch of saves. He threw gas, and he had a big hook. He usually got hit when he left the hook hanging over the plate. But he was never a closer until 1992, which you would never see happen today.

1- memories of Jarry Park as a kid
2- Blue Monday
3- seeing 40k+ every night in their good years, the Big O didn't seem to be a problem at the time...

Many stadiums were similar back then, and so nobody realized what a dump it really was. I was there 60-70 times a year, and had no problem with it.

I grew up going to Jarry Park. Loved that place.
