Woohoo! Coming to Buffalo, finally!!!
Looking at the Leafs @ Sabres, 21st October home game, so I have a couple of questions.
Bought off Stubhub before so not worried about that, but am I better off going for 105 or 106 seats, 105 is behind the players bench, does that impede your view at all ?
This is going to be a once in lifetime type situation, so if you were doing it would it be 105 or 106 seats ? - MikeyOz
It depends on what kind of experience you're trying to get. Being behind the bench can be cool if you're really close to it, like a row or two because you can see the player interactions on it. But, the line changes and coaching staff can get in the way of your view.
If you're looking to be down low, I would try and find something that's right along the glass if possible. Otherwise, your best bet is actually to try and get as high up in the 100s or like Ion said, the 200 level. The high rows in the 100s will probably be much cheaper than the 200 level though. |

Dennis Seidenberg appears to be being shopped. According to those highly "in the know."
Mid pair lefty. Anyone interested? He has a NTC. |

My guess would be he wouldn't waive to come here. Though it's not like the situation in Boston is all that much better at this point.
Any idea how much longer he has left on his contract? |

Well. Ignoring the whole "we're inferior all the time" thing.
He has 3 years left at 4. He's 34. |

Meh. I guess if you can get him without having to give up much it wouldn't be awful. But in general he's under contract a bit longer than I'd like considering his current age. |

I'm on the fence as well. As with most things, if the price is a pick or two, I'm all for it. Contract certainly wouldn't hurt our cap, and he could be one of the best overall values for a trade. |

At this point, I'm okay with 3 years or less on anybody's deal.
Though, like you said, the cost to acquire him is a big factor.
Seidenberg does provide some helpful experience as well, and he's won a championship. |

The cost is definitely the biggest factor. His cap hit isn't huge either, so it wouldn't really impede us at all at any point. Worst case if you need to make space you could trade him at the TDL during the 2nd year here unless he's been a complete tire fire.
He would allow us to keep guys on their correct sides this year and provide more of veteran presence we could use back there right now. |

(frank) it. Fine. One year at eleventy billion dollars. He'll get us points at a rate of about $894,000 per point. |

I'm trying to think outside the box a bit. To me, Yandle is too obvious. Not to mention I don't think the Rangers move him.
I was looking at Kevin Kline. He's 30 years old and has 3 years left at $2.9 mil per year. But he's a righty.

So, the glass half full scenario is that the Rangers have locked up their number one center for a long time. The glass half empty is that the Stepan signing leaves the Rangers with only $1.025 in available salary cap space for the 2014-15 season. Not much cushion at all for GM Jeff Gorton to head into the season with.
I smell a trade coming.
Don't be surprised if Gorton trades a defenseman. He has two plausible candidates in lefty Keith Yandle and right Dan Girardi.
Yandle, the slick puck mover, will become UFA next July and will earn $5.75 this season. Yandle, like UFA Cody Franson, has suffered from a dip in stock price due to a soft Stanley Cup playoffs. Girardi, 31, shoots right, eats and blocks shots and makes a great first pass to streaking forwards. Girardi will earn $5.5 million for the next 4 seasons.
I can see Buffalo Sabres GM Tim Murray lurking in the shadows. Murray is looking to add a veteran D to his formidable D corps. Murray has salary cap space. Gorton does not.
