Well, considering Russ does off field things for the Bills, I don't see why he couldn't do off ice things for the Sabres. Why this happened has yet to be determined, but maybe he was let go because of what he didn't do.

I noticed Black had been far less visible the past year. I assumed he was laying low during the tank. Maybe he had a family or health issue going on. Those can be tough.

I don't think enough people realize that this position is like 99% off ice/field. It's a poop load of marketing and fan experience improvements.

Pegula wanted Russ Brandon from day 1 to run both and Brandon turned it down.. Pegs must have sweetened the pot

this is very exciting

I'm sure in the next 24-48 hours, seeing as training camp hasn't even started yet, this is going to be the main focus of all Buffalo Sports. We should get a pretty good scoop soon as to the reasons for this.
