I was surprised when I looked at the list...Paul Coffey played for 9 teams. - Jsaquella
I just realized that LA traded him mid-way through the 92/93 season for Jimmy Carson and 2 prospects. Gretzky was apparently really pissed over it, but Melrose REALLY WANTED Gary Shuchuk and Marc Potvin because he had coached them the year before. I wonder if he would have made the difference in the SCF that year.
I think with the the guys they have now (the younger guys especially: Couts, Laughton) they have a chance to get that dominant defensive forward style again.
I like what we currently have with PEB and White and VV. Adding Laughton to the group in the future will also help. All and all, I like the direction the entire club has moved over the past few years. - jak521
I want to see the Flyers become a team that is tough to play against all over the ice, in all 3 zones. A team that pressures the puck the entire length of the ice. Strong forechecking, and a team that is relentless in getting it back when they don't have it.

The good news is that with the stock of d-men coming up, we have the potential to have a very dominant team defense. Having good team defense makes those things you mentioned much more easily obtainable.

Good team D is the building block of any kind of success in the nhl.

Mobility and puck skills defensively, are certainly key. Short term, I'm really excited to watch Medvedev play. He could be a real difference maker if he can quickly adapt to the NA game.

All the video I've ever watched on Medvedev, he looks like a really good skater.

From what I have read about him, and the limited stuff I have seen.. I think he brings a Coburn like game to the ice. That is definitely a positive.

He's a lanky guy too. 6'3 187lbs. Hopefully he pans out like we all hope.

I think I posted this video a few months ago. Some really promising footage here.
I'm hopefully optimistic -- but yeah, poop like Roman Cervenka and Jiri Dopita happen pretty regularly.
Guy seems like he's got a lot of skills and tools... but old dogs, new tricks, you know how that goes. - Tomahawk
Streit was like 28 years old when he first started in the league I believe, so there's hope. Granted, Medvedev is 32. As long as he can contribute some offense, get pucks out of the zone, and play competent defense, i'll be happy.
