Knew you'd like that Goose. You ever see Flight? It's like that, without.. you know.. the cocaine.

Can't say that I have. Though I may need more than the usual 1 cup of coffee tomorrow.

Went to Artpark last night and have a concert at Darien Lake today. Two nights of being up later than normal in a row is going to equal a very sluggish Goosie tomorrow morning.

He's one of those guys who will always call Buffalo home. He's been doing great things in the community for years. I can't imagine him not signing another NHL contract. But if no one wants him, by all means, play for the Amerks. Would be a solid PK leader there.
- TheSabresTaco

He brings nothing to the table.

His negatives far outweigh his positives at this point.

Him being a marked man when on the ice alone outweighs anything positive, let alone his injuries.

An AHL deal can still be a pretty decent. I was just looking to see how much Ellis signed for, but all I can find is that it's a one year deal. No $$ mentioned in any of the articles.
- HonkFortheGoose

All I know is that he made $300,000 in the AHL last year, so you'd have to think he got a slight pay raise.

They had some epic rotations.

Maddux
Glavine
Smoltz
Millwood

Maddux
Glavine
Smoltz
Neagle

- dadeadhead

They are trying to build that again. The rotation is going to look like this in a few years

Shelby Miller
Matt Wisler
Julio Teheran
Touki Touissant
Tyrell Jenkins

The amount of young pitching prospects Atlanta now has is almost laughable. There are 5 or 6 more pitchers(Folty,Banuelos,Allard,Freid,Sims,Vizciano) in the ranks that can be everyday starters. They will most likely be traded for big bats.

Actually I'm pretty sure his last deal was a two way for year one and a one way for year two. Meaning he made 550k last year no matter what.

I'll survive, I just won't be as functional as normal.

It doesn't help that I haven't gotten a good nights sleep for almost 3 weeks now. For whatever reason lately I wake up pretty much every hour and spend 20 minutes trying to fall back to sleep.

And I'll save you some keyboard ink as Cabin likes to call it, I know you only get like 3 hours each night most of the time. But some of us require more than that to function.

I did that gauntlet a couple weeks ago, did 3 in 3 days. It took a toll, for sure. Basically just made an entire pot for myself and kept going till I could keep my eyes open. By then...

I would recommend as many naps as you can.

If he's healthy, which he isn't, ever, I disagree. Two ifs come into play to make him very valuable.

If he can stay healthy
If he can go a season without suspension

If those two conditions are met, he'd be a great add for any team in this league. Low pay, high end PK acumen.

But, reality strikes, and one or both of thse conditions have no chance of being met. Ergo, Amerks.

I have plans at like 10pm tomorrow, so I plan on trying to squeeze a nap in when I get home from work.

I was actually surprised that I got home as early as I did yesterday. I was home by about 11:45, but I'm not the type that can just come home and jump right in bed unless I'm absolutely exhausted. It was probably close to 1 when I finally fell asleep.

Being that tonight's adventure is at Darien, I'm guessing I don't even get home until almost 1 just because getting out of there is a complete nightmare.

That's what I should be getting right now. But when you factor in all the times I'm waking up and how long it's taking me to fall back asleep, it feels more like 4.

I don't care who's playing there.

A. Its a terrible venue
B. Its a nightmare to get in or out
C. Did I say how awful sh1tty that venue is?

DARIEN LAKE CONCERT LIFE HACK

This one is pretty simple.

1) Get there when you get there. Tailgating is a lot of fun at DL, so I usually show up around 2:30 anyways.
2) Don't worry about where you park. It's insignificant.
3) The parking lot starts to clear out around 6:30 ish. By 7-730, almost everyone has gone inside, except for a few really drunk stragglers.
4) This is when you STRIKE. If you can handle missing the opening acts, pack your car up around 715-730.
5) Get in your car. Now this is key. Drive towards the back entrance. Get as close as humanly possible. There's two sides of the main road leading out of the parking lot. Sometimes there's cars parked there, sometimes not. Usually for sold out shows, they open up the other side. If it's not open, cops will be guarding that side, so don't try to re-park there. If it is open, that's the side you want. Priority One. If it's not open, get as close as possible to that dumpster in the far back corner. Back into your spot. This is important.
6) Head into the concert, enjoy the show. If you don't leave before the end of the show, have no fear. Stroll on back to your car.
7) Get in line, you'll be out in 10 minutes or less.

My little brother just asked me to get him a ticket on Stubhub for tonight.

$56 to stand on the lawn at Darien Lake is ridiculous...but he's giving me the cash so who am I to say no? I just get to rack up a few more Credit Card Points.
