Sutter Pros:
Very good wrist shot and backhand
Skates well, not great though
Very disciplined in penalties and positioning
Good in SO
Offensive threat on the PK
Never gets injured
Good on FOs
Cons:
loses the majority of puck battles and weak on the puck
poor passing and vision
not physical at all
no slapshot or one timer
Weak on his skates
Poor shot and goal suppression on PK - jfkst1
Well he HAS to be more Physical than Bonino so....yeah.
I would prefer Sven Sutter Virtanen 7 days a week over Bonino Virtanen and Sven - VANTEL
Sutter is going to cost more than that entire line. Sutter isn't much better than Bonino, I'll ask you again after this upcoming season since I have a strong feeling that you'll be less high on Sutter after you see him more.

You say that now, I'm warning you, Sutter will score some pretty goals, but he is going to be maddeningly weak in puck battles and in creating offense. There's a reason his underlying possession and production numbers are so bad.

But his linemates ( Vitanen and Sven ) will be cheaper than Burrows and Higgins

He's good bottom six guy, but not at 5 million a year, which Benning will probably pay him
in my opinion, it comes down to role. bonino is a decent centre man but is taking time away from horvat.
horvat needs 2nd line minutes and bonino is not well suited for the third line.
the best part of this trade is the fact that willie will have no option but to give horvat more of an offensive role. (he said hopefully) - RealityChecker
My biggest issue is that we downgraded a draft pick and gave up Clendening(not that I'm high on him). And that Sutter will get a nice fat contract from JimBo that will pay him like a 2nd liner.
I'd rather just go up with WD and tell him to give Horvat more minutes and PP time and keep Bonino. Or trade Bonino for a pick or prospect at the TDL.
It is either Virtanen and Sven or Vey and Kenins . Who do you chose? - VANTEL
They have Daniel, Vrbata, Burrows, Higgins, Hansen, Prust and Dorsett as 7 of the 8 veteran wingers. WD doesn't like upsetting his vets, he's loyal to a fault(his own words).
