Fair enough. - jmatchett383
It's one of the reasons I never take jabs at EK. He provides something of value to me for free. FREE. His "rumors" are largely ridiculous, but who am I to criticize a guy giving me something for free.

Both sides of the deal come with red flags. I can agree with that.
I am just letting you guys also know Buyer Beware. You are not getting nowhere near what you thought you were.
I know we will struggle to make the playoffs , but if Clendenning is your number 6 and Bones your 3 Rd LC , then so will you struggle. - VANTEL
No red flags from our side at all.
Clendening isn't our #6. If anything he is #8 at best as it stands right now.
If Bonino does start 3c, he will have top 6 talent around him. I'm not worried at all. |

Actually Pittsburgh side comes with zero red flags since they saved money, got a prospect, improved their draft position, and added Fehr with the saved money. So even if Bones disappoints, he can play on the 4th line. |

I agree. I sometimes laugh at them, but I don't (well, rarely) criticize him unless he's pretty much lying. And I'm not saying this supposed person is right in what he does/says. I just felt that RW should have been a little more tactful is all. Just my feelings. |

Odd that every single metric says otherwise. - jfkst1
Same thing was said when Vancouver moved Hodgson to Buffalo.
Analytics can show performance, but it also can be a more of an evaluation of how the player was used. |

Yes,
This confuses me because I was constantly told by people advocating for a Malkin trade that there was no other way.
I know it's people. Like I said, with no names, you have no proof and neither do I.

I think RW has taken a lot of sh!t.
I read most of the other blogs and other than Dee and Garth, I think RW takes the most heat. People can disagree but some around here have gotten quite personal. Some have gone too far IMO. Just my 2cents. - madmike71
He's taken a lot of crap for sure, and it has been earned. Through Twitter and direct messages he's essentially killed his chance of getting hired on by a resectable company. When I first came back I enjoyed his interactions but after a while the dm's and Twitter crap had me coming straight to the comments.
The jab to sammy was apparently well placed and appropriate, the other stuff is unwarranted and why I don't read his blogs. To each their own I reckon. |

I read this blog pretty much every day. Sometimes I comment but I dont think Ive ever seen you comment on it. This trade bothers you for some reason. It's the only reason you're spewing so much negativity towards it. A lot of very knowledgeable hockey people and Pens fans alike think it was a great trade for the Pens... |

Got a prospect that will need to be waived when he doesn't make the team.
Bones will only disappoint if you expect something from him. He will be there, wont be bad, wont be good, just will fill the hole until the next line comes out. |

You don't have to look at "analytics" just their general stat lines show Bonino is better. |

All the Pens need is a cost-effective 3C. You won't get that out of Sutter at his current cap hit. You think he's taking a pay cut on his next one? |

Why do we as fans always beat up the player that we traded? I was neutral on Sutter I didn't care one way or the other with him. I thought you don't score 21 goals by accident in the NHL but you don't score 22 on accident either. I think the players are similar for what role they will be used in here. Getting an adequate replacement for 1.4 mil cheaper is big for the pens. Sutter might pan out and be a descent 2c I actually hope he does. |

I hope things work out for him too. Sometimes when the games really mattered he seemed like one of the only players giving 110% |

I mean coming down the right side with speed and releasing from the dot seemed like a guarantee from him. Nope he wasn't physical and no he wasn't a possession driver but he scored what seemed like big goals when we needed them. Can he be replaced? Sure I think Bonino will be just fine and cheaper. |

Not strange. Zubrus was down right bad the past couple years, probably wanted to free up room for their kids since they are starting from scratch - kfinl170
They don't free up any room, though.
A roster spot, maybe, but then you can just scratch the guy. A buyout still counts full-value against their cap. |

The only thing I can think of is he wants to return home to play and the Devils cut him a deal to do so. |
