Pens have a crap load of 7th dmen now. It isn't a bad thing considering how decimated they were with injuries.

Combat MOS in Army or Marines will teach them.
- jfkst1

If there is one thing I learned about the marine core, they don't teach you anything. They bring the best out of you. If you didn't have it to begin with, you won't have it when you leave.

As for the Army. My cousin is a GB, speaks very highly of how they treat special ops folks. Very different than my buddies who are marines.

Well, as long as you're okay with a paid member of an organization not-so-subtlely telling a patron of his organization "Told you so!!!" then that's your take. Persoanlly, if I did that a customer at my job, I'd be fired. And there are people that I want to do that to every day.

After reading the scouting report on Clendening's skating, I have to question how much Pronman actually watched him.

Also HF has horrible rankings, their team message boards have rankings actually voted on by the fans. Clendening was voted the Canucks #10 overall prospect this month(before the trade).

Wait and see trade, yes..nick was cheaper..his points. and contribution tailed off the end, no show in the playoffs ...if he can produce with Sid ...good trade!

Just a heads up, Bonino has more career playoff points, in 3 less games, than Sutter.....

I was an 18C and I can assure you we don't get treated all that great. Lots of latitude compared normal Marine/Army combat MOSs but overall lifestyle is lower than someone from the AF, Navy, and CG. The specialty pays are good though.

I think Sutter will have just as difficult time as Bonino producing in an expanded role where he's surrounded by less talent than he was previously, thus drawing more of the other team's defensive attention. Thing is, Sutter is a worse player. He's already soft on the puck when the other teams' best defensive efforts are being focused on Sid and Geno. Just wait to see how he performs when the only thing softening up the other team's defensive efforts is the Sedin line.

Where is hardnosed anyway? My guess is he is helping Sutter move since they are related.

Hardnosed, Sutter, Grinder, and Adams are probably 12 deep at some bar right now lamenting the good ol' days.

He commented once admitting that the trade was an improvement and that Sutter was under-appreciated in his time here. Reading the new Canucks blog and the commentary from them for the last few days, I think Sutter went to the right place. Very few of them seem to care about the underlying numbers and their correlation to winning.

You guys don't even know Sutter is a lot closer in playing style to Semin than Brent Sutter.

That's what my cousin said. Graduated with a 3.5 from Bucknell and became a green beret haha. Some people just have that drive in them and don't ever want to see a cubical.

Bonino might be one of the most milquetoast/boring players the canucks have ever had...i can't say anything bad about him, i can't say anything good about him. He was never noticeable good or bad. He always struck me as the guy who would score a goal midway throught the 2nd to make a game 5-1 either for or against.

I cannot for the life of me think of a single moment or highlight that Bonino had in is one year in vancouver. He was terrible at faceoffs, a reasonable PK'er and had a knack for scoring meaningless goals.

Apparently he had 6 GWG but I swear they were of the 3rd goal in a 6-2 blowout variety.

maybe another canucks fan can tell me a "bonino" moment???

Don't need a Bonino moment. Just need him to show up and serve his role for a cheaper price than Sutter. Make it easier for the big guys to have their moments.

I was just thinking that nearly every forward has the potential to reach 15 goals.

Lets do some Goal predictions (a lot depends on how the lines shake out) :

Crosby = 33
Malkin = 38
Hornqvist = 27
Kessel = 46
Perron = 24
Kunitz = 14
Dupuis = 16
Bonino = 12
Fehr = 17
Plotnikov = 13
Bennett = 11
Sundqvist = 8
